BMW Recalls 1.6 Million 3-Series Cars For Faulty Air Bags
BMW will recall around 1.6 million cars worldwide -- including about 574,000 in the United States -- to replace passenger-side front airbags because of potential problems involving rupturing inflators.

The recall affects 3-series vehicles produced between May 1999 and August 2006.

The newest car is already 8 years old.

Seems airbags, brake and fuel lines aren't as durable as they used to be. Either that or cars are staying on the road longer than they used to.

I'm going with crappy parts because they're made by little kids somewhere to save money and boost profits.

"MUNICH (Bloomberg) -- AG is recalling 1.6 million cars globally -- including about 574,000 in the United States -- for a front-passenger airbag defect that has caused manufacturers including Honda Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp. to repair millions of vehicles."

"The faulty inflaters, from Japanese supplier Takata Corp., prompted mass recalls at Toyota, Honda and Nissan Motor Co. of more than 5 million vehicles last month."
