RUMOR: Lexus' All-New Flagship To Be Inspired By The LF-LC, Power Will Be MENTAL
Over the past several years, Lexus has been churning out some really cool concepts. If I had to name a favorite, it would be a bit tough to pick a numero uno; however, I think I can definitively say that the LF-LC is the best.

It has a fantastic exterior AND interior. More importantly, it would fulfill an empty gap in the luxury automaker's product portfolio. Would it be a volume product? Not likely.

BUT it would give BMW and Mercedes-Benz's big, bad luxury GTs a run for their money. We like competition.

Now if the latest news about a prototype LF-LC running around Japan are true, we're excited. IF the rumors about a 600 horsepower variant are true, we're going to flip our wigs. Although we can't verify the reports, we wager that one of the buff books may be onto something. They typically don't print things that aren't exhaustively researched.

Word on the Tokyo street is that there’s a Lexus LF-LC Coupe mule running around Japan packing a 600-hp twin-turbo version of the upcoming RC F’s 5.0-liter V-8. That power rating may be on the conservative side. We heard back in March of 2013 that Lexus was overwhelmed by the positive response to the swoopy coupe and decided to go on and green-light it. Until now there has been little to no information on the striking concept, other than the fact that the production version will most likely be called SC. There still isn’t much, but our sources confirm the monstrous twin-turbo V-8 will be the SC F. There’s a potent hybrid LF-LC/SC H whose powertrain will probably be the fruits of the BMW joint project and make around 500 hp. There will be a third engine, a base naturally aspirated V-8, that will produce a bit less power than the hybrid (450 hp) but get worse fuel economy...

I agree.

Easily the best design to come out of Lexus, ever.

Lexus is a bunch of morons. The LFLC is stunning and the production car--unaltered--should have followed the concept to market by 6 months instead of still being vapor.

Agreed. Should already be out!

And where are they going to pull out a concept to production in 6 months when the car wasn't planned? I think the final product will be more like a much better SC replacement rather than something along the line of the Bentley Continental or S coupe.

Yawn ... Another fancy Toyota built appliance. Numb steering, no racing heritage, blah blah blah ...

Really? What rock are you hiding under? Euro-fanboys are sad to say the least... Toyoda has already said that this car will be at least 90% of what you see here so this should be an excellent sleeker for sure...

decent, but production car will be nothing like prototype at all, so there is nothing to be excited about. It is a toyota after all. Besides there is clear lack of design cohesiveness in the front and back lighting system.

I like it. Much more exciting to look at than most of what is coming from Europe. Toyota has no racing heritage? I think you could benefit by some research. Toyota has competed since the early 70s in everything from Le Mans to F1 to Nascar to IMSA to Indy cars & world rally. Where have you been? Google Toyota in Motorsports.

And they've been caught cheating and still couldn't win. Toyota is a joke in Motorsports.
