STUD OR DUD? Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Protoype Caught In The Wild

On paper, the standard 2015 Ford F-150 is impressive enough, and we're eager to finally get behind the wheel of the aluminum-bodied pickup. But we're perhaps more eager to learn what Ford will do with the next SVT Raptor variant. Today, we get a look at what Ford has planned in these spy shots.

The prototype wears the current model's bodywork, with ill-fitting panels slapped on the front end and truck bed. We can tell it's a next-gen truck by the more rounded corners of the cab, however. The grille and hood are covered up, indicating those parts are likely genuine next-gen pieces. If you look closely at the wheel wells, you won't see any blue anodized accents of the current vehicle's Fox Racing-sourced shocks. That could be a clue that Ford has switched suppliers.

Stud or dud? Are you kidding me? This is a boring, ugly-ass pickup truck that doesn't even deserve a passing glance let alone a rating. Where are you guys coming from? Oh, I forgot -- Texas?

it's basically a 2015 cab with 2014 front end and bed. simply a test mule for a new raptor powertrain so it's far from being an actual prototype and no where near what it will look like in production.
