IamEvilHomer: The A6 for the Chinese market is built in China so there should not be any affects for the U.S

AlexTx is correct. I don't think Audi sales in China are that accurate regarding Audi sales statistics. Audi's in general are well built cars. But the fact of the matter is, the Audi's that are sold in China are NOT exactly the same kinds we get in here in the US and in Germany.
Volkswagon/Audi set up plants specifically in China years ago and hire Chinese laborers to build the cars. My friends in China have told me that the cars are not of the same build quality as the USA ones. You don't see fancy NAV screens and such other things.
The high end Audi's that we are used to are built in Germany by skilled German laborers(like Lexus workers in Japan). Saying Audi sales are up in China is like Lexus putting a plant in the country of 1 billion people, hiring less meticulous Chinese workers to put the Lexus cars together, and selling them as Lexus vehicles. Then saying Lexus sales are up so much percent.

logical, if they don't have bmws in china yet, then they don't have an image.
they'll be starting from scratch.
and india is a hell hole for cars. the test is drive for 400 yards in a straight line. if you are in the car at the same time, you pass too.
highest car crash death in the world, i believe.

and hype?
thats what bimmer fans believe.

For all the naysayers, this article is 100% TRUE

I just came back from Beijing and Shanghai a few weeks ago and I can say without hesitation that there are much more Audi's there than any other luxury brand.

the image of audi in chinese's eyes are more like a political symbole. so no matter how much better bmw or mercedes are. people will still choose audi. this is why.
