Fuel leaks halt sale of some XJs

Jaguar Cars ordered its dealers worldwide to stop selling some 2006 and 2007 XJ sedans following several massive gasoline leaks from vehicle fuel tanks.

Jaguar notified its U.S. and Canadian dealers of what it calls a "quarantine" on Wednesday, Aug. 30. The quarantine prohibits Jaguar dealers from selling any new or used XJs with vehicle identification numbers G49701 through H13209.

This is really unfortunate. I hope whoever buys Jaguar has the talent and ambition to build vehicles that reflect the company's history. Back in the day, people baught Jag's knowing they would break down. It didn't matter because it was a Jag. Even the name still sounds cool. I don't what it is though but they have lost something. I just got a brochure in the mail from them this afternoon. I'll be in the market for a new car in 6mths+/-. They don't even look good in the brochure. Christ, every car looks good in a brochure. Ford can't even get that right.

Right now I'm all over the board. I've looked at the Quattroporte, requested info from Merc on the CLS, I'm waiting to check out the new CL and I just got the info on the Jag. I also requested info on the BMW 6. The R8 is definetly a top contender but it won't be out until next spring so in the mean time I'm enjoying looking at the other models. Even though I have an A8L now you can see that I'm not brand specific. That being said, a new A8/S8 isn't out of the question.
