SPIED: Mercedes' All-New MLC's Been Hitting The Gym, AMG Variants To Be LARGE And In CHARGE
The Mercedes-Benz MLC is probably one of the more interesting concepts coming out of the three-pointed star in about a year. There's good reason for this: it negates all the haters that said the BMW X6 was worthless, and as I like the X6 I do like Mercedes' more dynamic take on the sport-utility vehicle.

So, while we're sure the standard MLC in production form will be pretty cool, we're more interested in the more sporting AMG variants. Although it's yet to be confirmed, the latest rumors swirling are indicating that there will be an MLC63 AMG and an MLC65 AMG.

Bi-turbo V12 power sent through an all-wheel drive system? Hell yes.

The latest spy shots of the MLC AMG were snapped at what appears to AMG's test facility outside of the Nürburgring. This doesn't appear to be the Affalterbach facility. It appears the research and development car has all the tell-tale signs of an AMG product: quad-tipped, squared off exhaust, larger wheels/tires, massive air intakes in the front valence and a big brake kit.

On a slightly related note based on purely anectodal evidence I haven't seen as many of the current generation ML63 AMGs as there were of the last. Perhaps it's because the last generation ML63 had a somewhat of a unique design but the current one doesn't look as great.

I see plenty ML63s out here in South Africa. But I also see as many G63s

Current ML 63 is most successful AMG SUV model yet, plenty cruising Manhattan, but again Mercedes has this balancing act down.

While they launch the GLA for the entry level, they ready launch of an upscale model, the MLC, ensuring little to no compromise of the Brand Image

The proportions look horrible. What's with the shortened wheelbase? Another bad idea.
