Lexus NX200t Vs Audi Q5: Which One Trips Your Trigger More As A Luxury SUV?

Lexus NX200t Vs Audi Q5: Which One Trips Your Trigger More As A Luxury SUV?
As Lexus rolls out the new 2015 NX 200t premium crossover, one of its main competitors and peers in the segment is the Audi Q5. One difference buyers will be easily able to note between these vehicles, which will have very similar 2.0 liter turbo AWD drivetrains in their best-selling trims, is looks. Lexus will offer a visually more exciting option to the Q5 in a package that is almost identical in size.

Audi Q5 Looks Much Wider Than Lexus NX 200t

The comparison photos shown above were taken during the launch of the NX 200t by Lexus last week. There were no competitive models on hand, so Torque News sought out and found this Q5 for a rough comparison. As the photos show, the Audi Q5 looks wider than the 2015 NX 200t. Indeed it is, but not by as much as it looks. The body of the Audi Q5 is actually only 1.1 inch wider than the NX 200t. They have the same width and height (within a fraction of an inch).

I gotta say, as polarizing and chopped up as the Lexus looks, it actually makes the Q5 look like a VW tiguan

Neither.

Lexus has the style here...face it, the Audi is a potato with 4 interlocking rings on it. However, the Audi focuses on performance when it comes to the HP, torque and handling. Two completely different vehicles. It's not likely that they will be cross-shopped because of this...they meet entirely different needs.

The Lexus RAV4 definitely has style, polarizing as it may be.

Both are built off its mainstream siblings chassis, but the North American version of the NX has a huge overhung front bumper so that it qualifies as a truck (and therefore is not included in CAFE).

Once again, Lexus pulls its punches. Never going quite far enough with a vehicle that truly needs to be different and much better than the competition to win.

The Lexus makes the Audi looks dated. The NX is a new model, while the Q5 will be refreshed soon.

Neither. I just TD a Lincoln MkC and was blown away inside and out. It looks and drives better I'm afraid. Audi's are so common and the design is dated to me. I don't see anything fresh from Audi even from their concepts. The Lexus has great style if we had the European mod with the correct front fascia.

We are getting people test driving the MKC and liking it, but sales are DISMAL. The store has behind-the-scenes money from Ford to cut deals, but I think people look at the sticker and think "That's $5K too much for it..." not realizing we can come off the list $5k and still have a profit because of Ford's cash to dealers.

Audi for looks and NX for reliability. I'd probably lease and dump the Audi. I'd probably buy the NX.

Seriously after reading all reviews, why do people always bring up different cars to the mix... Lexus is still in transition to make a statement as a leaded luxury brand. Good Cars overall

I'd choose the Audi between these two. However, there are more compelling choices outside of these two.

the fact that the lexus will probably lease for under 500 and the q5 over 600 makes the decision very easy.

the Q5 is currently being offered in Premium trim @ $479/month

Audi looks so dated. Looks so boring, too.

And yet, NX, looks so beautiful. Most likely the most beautiful compact luxury SUV on the market.

Audi's grill is bastardized, feminized and covered with pink bitch dust and installed on Lexus.

1-st 10-15 years they copy Benz, then they tried to be their own but it didn't work, they got confused and lost in translation, so they decided to switch to Audi for design copy strategy

So if one day Audi decides to go gay, it will most likely look like Lexus

As a gay man, I am not so sure what 'go gay' means in terms of design. I have gay friends who own an Audi of one kind or another...and Mercedes as well...not to mention BMW. I guess all German cars have 'gone gay' then, benzforlife. Oh, and stay out of your closet too benz...odds are that the majority of the clothes there were designed by a gay man (not to mention your furniture in your house, the paint colors on your walls, etc).

Gay bashers are usually people with serious identity problems, gay or straight. Hear that houstonmidtown?
So please let's go back to talking about cars.
