I think the SLK55 is the best looking Benz currently being made.

Weird that he doesn't like this new coupe. I thought the last generation M Coupe was a very fun car.

Aside from the odd nice word he had to say about the 3.0CSL he once had, he is a BMW hater...

He is also an inconsistent and contradictory liar, when he reviewed the M5 on TV he basically slated it on 9/10 counts. But in the BBC Top Gear magazine, he said that it was excellent and it WOULD be his next car.

He plays for laughs most of the time, and he is funny, but I would never trust his opinion on a car... the Porshce Gayman comment is proof.

.. now Needell, Plato and Butler-Henderson on the other hand... at least they know what they are talking about.

good handling, but when porsche deliberately make a car bad when i say bad i mean not as good as it could) so it doesn't step on the 911s toes...

I would rather take the BMW. I don't think the Cayman looks as good as its Boxster sibiling. Remember what the M Z3 coupe looked like?
Why don't people like the Z4 M coupe? I think it is fine looking.

he's not a driver, he represents normal people.
he didn't like the techy-ness of the m5, he didn't like the gearbox (which one does use rather a bit) and he didn't like the normal engine note.
take all of his opinions with a pinch of salt.

About the 911, are they going to change the 911 RR layout to MR layout - for better handling?

I love BMW and what they represent, but imo, this design/model is hideous.

I don't know what Clarkson was thinking?! I think the Audi TTRS will surely defeat the M coupe. It will feature a turbocharged V6 with around 350 horsepower.

You almost got it. The TT RS will feature a 2.5 liter 5 cyilnder engine (1/2 of the Gallardo engine) with twin turbos for 350 hp. Also, the Cayman is just a nicely desgined car, far from being gay.

Audi TT RS is from the same platform as the VW Barbie Beetle, it' s a expensive Barbie Beetle with a low roof, with a 4-ring logo.

The TT is built on one of the most advanced platforms available on a car below 100k. A combination of aluminum and steel, more advanced than anything that BMW has.

The use of the word "Gay" for Cayman is pretty low IMO. Did Clarkson really say that!?

Larry, Audi drivers are MUCH more knowledgeable than the air-head, blonde, yuppy following of BMW.

Ask a BMW driver what engine their car has and the horsepower and only the faithful behind the wheel of an M-car or very high end will probably know.

Clarkson thinks he is funny, but i guess everybody get tired of him in the long run. I dont like him, he might be funny once but no more.
The Z4 coupe looks pretty nice.. a real sportscar, but 3.0 would do it for me :)
The car mag. says the M is like a sportscar, and very hard ride... best on track but not in traffic.

I plenty of normal people who own BMW's and know plenty about their cars so it's not just the diehearts that are Bimmer-savvy

I didn't know cars could have sexualities, but based on looks the Cayman definitely has a more "homosexual" appearance than the crisp looking M Coupe.

Look, this is JC, so laugh with him and don't take him serious.

He's got a thing with german cars, Gayman, SLGay, Gay M Coupe, Gay Audi TT and so on.

If it would have had a AM or Jaguar badge on it he wouldn't stop complementig it how beautifull it is.

I love Clarkson and his reviews, he tells it like it is. I'm probably going to have to use the Gayman thing down the road as well, I like it. It might be a good car to drive, but the only Porsche worth buying is a 911, if I couldn't afford that I wouldn't buy a Porsche.

I'm guessing you are from the US, maybe you just haven't been subjected to as much of Clarksons rubbish for as long as we have in the UK.

Rupert, believe me I'd love to have the chance. The 3 SP30's currentley on my license would testify to the fact that I probably would attempt to use the cars full performance all of the time, everywhere I went. (I got most of them in a 528i, god knows what I'd be like in a M car!)

z4 is a beautiful car whereas the cayman is gay and looks boring. the only bad thing about the bmw is the interior.
i don't car what you guys say, but the z4 is a very good looking car. and since when is the SLK55 the best looking mercedes, ANSWER??? the best looking is the cls.

I live in the UK and i as well as millions of others follow the Top-Gear Show & Magazine as well as 5th Gear and i can tell you that we are not fed up one bit with JC or the others.

Thats the proplem with Free Speech, Everybody has to say something :(

Have you driven a Z4M Coupe? Are you prepared to believe JC without having driven it yourself? Can you tell me which part of that statement is right? I would tend to go with the masses, and the masses say that the Z4M is a good drive.

JC is funny AT TIMES. The unfortunate thing is that because at one stage he did actually road test cars properly, people think that because of this (and because he's funny and is on TV) he is right... and they take his opinions seriously. If I said "why do Skoda's have heated rear windows? .. to keep your hands warm while your pushing it!" it would be a joke (a bad one)... but if JC wrote it... it would be a review?

That has got to be the most illogical reposte ive ever seen.
The article states that he qiute liked the convertible to the Z4 M, he also stated the reason why the car underperformed when pushed hard, there was nothing silly about that analysis, When he first drove the Koenisegg CCX he stated the back end was lacking downforce and needed a Spoiler, i guess he was wrong on that one too ehh ?? Pity then that Koenigsegg then added the Spoiler and Voila!! Vehicle Complete.

While i agree he has a slight Bias for anything British he is nowhere as usless as some of the other so-called automotive journalists out there.

I couldn't fit into the Z4 Coupe. Which was a bummer because I really like how it looks. The Z4 body style is just too small for people over six feet.

There is something very wrong (and yet funny, admit it!) about his crack on the Cayman. He seems to go after cars that have a hint of finesse to them (like the TT). His father must have been a real bastard!

He attacks the 1 problem about the Cayman. Some people will think you didn't 'earn' your Porsche because you paid ONLY $55k! It's a crazy world!!
