Lexus Receives 6,500 Japanese Pre-Orders For Pint Sized NX Crossover

Just a couple of days after announcing the official production start of the Lexus NX at the Miyata plant, in Japan, the car manufacturer is saying that no less than 6,500 pre-orders.

“Dealers understand its potential, and they’re asking us to give them as many as possible, as soon as possible… We believe the NX will sell well around the world, and that it will become a core model in the Lexus lineup”, said the Toyota Motor Kyushu president, Iwao Nihashi.

This is exactly what LEXUS needed. Just like the CLA for MERC and the A3 for AUDI, those aspiring to wear the badge will buy it. Who cares if its a nice RAV4, it still has a LEXUS badge.

I applaud Lexus for this car. Its innovative in the design. 2015 cars are rollings out and there honestly hasn't been too much of change in car styling since 2007. There was a drastic change from the early 2000s era to the 07's and 08's, but since then they haven't changed much, even new generations have only really added aesthetic changes it feels like - nicer lights, bigger wheels. I'm specifically looking at the new 3 series, Audis, etc. I appreciate this car and the CLA for that reason.

I give it a 10/10. Stylish and orignal something very few automakers are doing today.

If you don't like it you don't have style. Just buy a MDX that has a greenhouse from 35 other CUVs then.

I think it's refreshing to see Japan have their own style. If you don't like it don't buy it. The germans haven't taken any chances in years. Bangel was the last pusher of design.....

The F-Sport styling is a bit sharp 'no pun intended' but the non-F-Sport trims look pretty good 'more palatable' . The NX will be a hit for Lexus for sure.
