SPIED: Honda's BIG Selling CR-V Getting Updated, Possible HYBRID Version In The Works?
I'll tell you all something. If there's one thing that Honda is good at, it's producing hybrid vehicles. I know this because I recently had some wheel time in the seat of a 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid and I have to admit, I liked it.

But this story isn't a review of that product. We want to talk about the all-new spy shots showing what is clearly the refreshed CR-V. We've seen a couple snaps previously, but we think these are the BEST pictures yet. There's good reason for this: they're BIG and they also show us more detail than previously seen.

Two things that stick out to me, big time, are the new wheels with a turbine effect, and the modified grille to allow for extra cooling.

If you ask me these two little details hint at something else going on here. A possible CR-V Hybrid.

I am sticking my neck on the line here, but if that's the case I can't imagine it NOT selling. Though some utility would likely get eaten up by the set of batteries, we're sure most buyers would welcome the gain in mpgs.

That said, what do YOU think of the CR-V undergoing developmental testing?

Normally I don't care for SUVs and CUVs (and whatever else acronym BMW comes up with) but if it comes with alternative energy source such as diesel, hybrid, electric, hydrogen, etc. then I'm all for it.

It needs a plug like the Accord PHEV, the Outlander PHEV, or the RAV4 EV. Short of that it's a rather small step for a company that should lead the auto electrification, not lag behind it.

So the Accord hybrid is in the hunt. That is the first time Honda got hybrid right. Both Insights were just hellastupid and the Civic hybrids were not that much more fuel efficient than a regular Civic.

The first Insight still has better MPG than a current Prius...it was very innovative for what it was at the time...all aluminum construction, light weight, fun to drive (relative to the Prius)...it's only draw back was that it was a 2-seater.
