Cadillac Relocating Some Offices To NYC From Detroit To Improve Image

General Motors Co's premium Cadillac group is considering expanding its offices from Detroit to Manhattan, GM said Thursday, as part of an effort to remake the brand's image and broaden its appeal outside North America under new boss Johan de Nysschen.

"As Cadillac grows, it's possible we could look to add to our team or expand," said Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell. "But as of now, no changes."

De Nysschen, in his previous role as head of Nissan Motor Co's (7201.T) Infiniti brand, engineered a relocation of that unit from Yokohama to Hong Kong, in part to give the Infiniti team more autonomy from the Japanese parent and the opportunity to explore new ways to expand in global markets.

Cadillac is not moving anywhere, it's GM moving their fantasy luxury arm to NY, but for what reason???/ the answer remains a mystery just like GM's quality, never solved and never answered and no one has been held responsible.

moving to NY won't help a glorified Buick to get more respect, better quality product, with some degree of originality in a long run will, you know like Benz, in the high-end world, or most Japanese brands in the mass production world.

You don't see Benz moving to Afghanistan, or Toyota moving to Vietnam. LOL

For example, Toyota did move to Texas, but not for image or to be close to George Bush LOL, No they moved because CA tried to fuck them like a bitch with high taxes and Toyota refused to open their legs and ass and get fucked by Sacramento's greed. nothing was related to image. They have managed to earn their good better image by proving that their cars may be ugly and depressing looking, but at least have a bullet-proof quality. Now that's an image to learn from
