Worker Objects To UAW Backing Democratic Party - Files Charges And Demands Dues Refund

A Ford worker has filed charges against the UAW and the automaker seeking a partial refund of his union dues.

Todd Lemire, a tool-and-die maker in Dearborn for 16 years, filed charges last week with the National Labor Relations Board. He is receiving free legal assistance from the National Right to Work Foundation.

If Lemire and the foundation prevail, the case could encourage other workers to take the same action and hinder the UAW’s fund-raising for political purposes. It would be a symbolic victory for Gov. Rick Snyder and Republican legislators who pushed through Michigan’s right-to-work law in late 2012.

The sooner unions are BANNED from any form of political action/contribution the sooner they can get back to protecting workers.

Unions formed due to an ABSENCE of workers' rights laws. This laws are now the law of the land. The function of the union to protect workers has been codified into out legal system, so they are no longer needed.

The better question is why should unions be involved in politics if their mission is to protect workers? That would be like saying the pastor needs to be banging hips at the whore house so that he can lead his flock on Sunday morning.

An even better question is why do unions channel 100% of their money to Democrats when their membership is not 100% Democrat?

Proof that there are many middle class people that are sold on the idea that their lives will somehow be better by siding with the side that is the super rich. They will come home to their pillows to sit and soothe their reamed rectums while anticipating a day that will never ever come.

Maybe I'm stupid. Someone explain to me what Irish Mike just said because I have no idea.
I'm not opposed to collective bargaining but Unions have no business pressuring their workers to support particular candidates or forcing them through the collection of dues to support those candidates.
