STUD OR DUD? Alfa Romeo To Take On Jaguar F-Type With Alfa 6C Coupe

Alfa Romeo will take the fight to the Jaguar F-Type with a new Alfa 6C coupe drawing on the looks of the Maserati Alfieri concept

You’ve lusted after the carbon-fibre 4C and daydreamed about the 8C supercar, now prepare to want another Alfa so much that it hurts. The resurgent Italian brand is working on a new front-engined rear-wheel drive coupe, tipped to be called the Alfa Romeo 6C.

This would be a total stud if the production model looked like this. BUT, challenging the F-type doesn't mean you have to look like the F-Type

WOW it's gonna be ridiculously hard to choose between this and the F-type!

The F-type is just Vapor, Jag is struggling...

Of the neat sports cars Alfa has teased the only affordable one is the funkiest looking (4C) that will have a hard time competing with the Cayman as it is between a kit car and a real car. Hopefully they make a full assault on the sports car world and make them affordable, usable and … finished.

I'm not usually a Jaguar fan as of late, but after seeing a white F type, I'm sold on Jaguars. Only Aston can compare with that car.

More vapor cars like the Ferrari mule (8C) and the Fiat Fiero (4C). Alfa Romeo needs to build a mainstream car that gains credibility.

Maserati should take on the Jag F Type NOT Alfa Romeo.

Marchionne is such a moron.

Agree; Alfa Romeo has phenomenal brand potential but random niche entries will take it nowhere. Frankly would prefer to have seen VAG gotten it's hands on it and done what it has with Lamborghini.

But then we'd be stuck with VAG quality which is worse than Fiat. Fiats have way fewer warranty issues than VAG products.

VAG would not nurture Alfa like Lamborghini. VAG would have simply replaced Seat with Alfa. That would have been FWD platforms from the Golf Jetta and Passat, VAG engines and an Latin body style. I'd rather wait for what Marchionne will do with Alfa thank you. True the 4C is not up to the Cayman standard in terms of comfort and amenities. However it a very credible first step. Further it is all Italian. Not some German FWD hybrid. My only question is where is the price point going to be for the Giulia and Alfetta.

I can't believe the cars you are mentioning because they are crap! Any VAG, Lambo, or Alfa are simply garbage cars. They might look nice but no thanks!

The top picture especially looks a lot like a Subaru BRZ with a different grill. Beautiful.
One of my fears would be that buying parts for an Alfa would make you think you were buying Ferrari parts and you would be doing so with alarming regularity.
