Chevrolet Production Increases Three Fold With New C7 Corvette
The numbers don’t lie. Chevrolet is building a shedload of C7 Corvettes. In fact, if the report on Corvette Blogger is to be believed, GM claims 37,288 units of the C7 Corvette Stingray have been produced during the 2014 model year. That equates to the same number of C6 Corvette models – including Premiere Editions and captured fleet cars – the General churned out over a three-year period.

Impressive for sure but I believe a lot of it is the first model year surge, I am guessing the C6 in its first year sold a multiple of the C5 in its last year also. As great as the C7 is I am guessing sales will cool off next year.

That's partially true, but there are also conquest sales of people dumping Z4s, M3s, SLKs, and C Class AMGs for the latest hot thing on wheels. Some guys wanting ZL1 and Z28 Camaros are deciding to get a Corvette. Sales of the Corvette trailed off because people waited for the new one.
