TAHOE And SUBURBAN Fans Rejoice! Chevrolet To Offer Z71 Package For 2015

TAHOE And SUBURBAN Fans Rejoice! Chevrolet To Offer Z71 Package For 2015
According to my General Motors loving friend who was in LOVE with his various Tahoes and Suburbans from the 2000s, the all-new generation products just aren't cutting the mustard. And, if you look in the big forums, you'll note he's not the only one sharing this sentiment.

These days the highly coveted models are the GMT800 Z71s.

So, a lot of folks must be happy to hear that Chevrolet will be bringing back the more badass Z71 from the dead. At the moment, very little information is available as one photo "leaked" unintentionally.

While we're always a bit skeptical in these types of situations, we think this is pretty genuine given that GM is keeping its lips sealed.

Stay tuned to AutoSpies.com because when more information becomes available in September we'll be sure to bring it to you!

Chevrolet's press release follows:

Chevrolet Statement on 2015 Tahoe and Suburban Z71 Production

DETROIT – Building on the early success of the all-new 2015 Tahoe and Suburban launch, Chevrolet will continue to offer features and variants to meet the needs of its customers. Chevrolet announced today it will offer a Z71 package for the 2015 Tahoe and Suburban. Additional features and production timing will be announced in late September. In 1988, the first official special Z71 package appeared on Chevrolet's new-generation full-size pickup trucks, and in 2001, Chevrolet added the Z71 package to Tahoe and Suburban.

Ask any Tahoe/Suburban fan.

Check out the forums.

It's what they've been wanting...

Aside from a badge what does one get? Magic pixie dust?

Obviously, we don't know the specifics as you can see above, GM is remaining tight lipped.

I'd guess a power bump, towing rating, and if they're lucky, locking diffs.

GM already has locking diffs. well.. it's an e-locker... not selectable like the f-150's.

in the past, z71's have had rancho shocks, skid plates, smaller wheels and meatier tires, and a different interior and gauge cluster.

I love this SUV, too bad my wife don't. I rented one a month ago in Houston and I was very impressed.
