RENDERED SPECULATION: Land Rover Range Rover Evoque SVR, Will THIS Be The SUV That STOPS The Macan In Its Tracks?

From what we've seen, the Porsche Macan is a great sport-utility vehicle if you really want emphasis on the sport part. Of course it's a bit tight in the backseat, but don't tell us we didn't warn you. From what I've seen, the car has only been out for a short period of time but it's gaining traction quick as I am starting to see A LOT of them pop up in the New York Tri-State region.

But, it may not be a complete shut out for Porsche. That's because the Land Rover Range Rover has one trick up its sleeve we've yet to see. That would be the Range Rover Evoque SVR.

Months ago we saw the very first spy images of the Evoque SVR doing its thing, but recently development cars have been non-existent. Or, at least they haven't been getting snapped by spy photographers.

Thankfully, the Picasso of automobile rendering, Theophilus Chin, has done his handiwork to bring the latest JLR special vehicle to life.

I wonder if the Range Rover Evoque will get SVR treatment too. If so this car will be a serious Porsche Macan challenger.

The answer is NO and not even close. I would say MAYBE if the Evoque got a full reskin as well, but the Macan is new with fresh styling an an Evoque SVR wears old styling and in this segment, the new shiny thing beats the old shiny thing.

The Macan is a mixed blessing at our store. One one had we can sell every one we get and buyers are willing to put deposits down and wait. Cayenne sales have cooled A LOT. It seems people would rather have the Macan.

In hindsight, Porsche should just migrated the Cayenne name to the Macan and killed off the Porsche Touareg.
