CAR WARS! Family Edition: WHICH BMW M Is The BEST LOOKING To YOU?

As we've seen the BMW brand grow in the US, it's been interesting to see the company go from the production of cars in the fashion of "same sausage, different size" into more organic designs. With all-new cars like the i3 and i8, it's clear the brand doesn't mind taking design risks.

And who can forget the Bangle era?

But as I've noted several times this summer, the M3 — now M4 — is the car everyone measures the company by. These are the models that get everyone's blood pumping.

Though you're sure to find devoted lovers for each specific generation, there's specific reasons why each car is SO desirable. Unless you have unlimited disposable income, likely you're going to pick one generation to have. Hell, some folks actually put two or more of the same gen M car in their garage. We could have endless debates about motors and weight but we're going to keep this more emotional. We want to know the generation that tickles your fancy ONLY from a design point of view.

Toss up between the e46 and the e90, but unfortunately not the current one. The pedestrian-friendly hood is a real blight on this generation.

Although I really like the all-new look, I am infatuated with the E46 M3. Even when I see one on the road these days it's an event.

I am sure the look was a little bolder at its time but now it looks perfectly restrained.

I actually prefer the look of the standard E90 335i M-Sport edition. The M's look like they're trying too hard.

The E90 M-sport will be always looked for down the road. Plus, it's more reliable than an M.

Yup, the 335 whatever editions are really more reliable with the M with the High Pressure Fuel Pump, Water Pump, Wastegate etc etc issues SO RELIABLE!
