LEAKED: Land Rover Discovery Sport Images Leak Ahead Official Debut - Who Should Be Shaking In Their Boots?

The first pictures of the Land Rover Discovery Sport have surfaced online, hours before the car's official unveiling at midnight.

These pictures, first published on Autoblog Italia and since circulated online, show the seven-seat Discovery Sport gets many of its styling cues from the Land Rover Discovery Vision concept car.

Last week, miniature versions of the Discovery Sport gave away the outside look of the car, which will look to take on the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Porsche Macan when it goes on sale early next year. Previous releases have also shown the Discovery Sport's interior, which is based around a 5+2 seating layout.

Nicely done....I like it a lot...Oh lord if the reliability were as good as the one on Lexus it would be the perfect all terrain vehicle...

Oh so this is the Freelander replacement, this makes more sense now.

I might be wrong, but it looks to big for me to be a Freelander...

If the Explorer were good-looking, it would look something like this, and not like a hippo.

Fun Fact: Land Rover Evoque has not been a sales hit in the U.S., usually selling around 1000 units each month.
Vehicles like the Acura RDX sell around 4X as much. True story.

Fun fact: UNDER 1000 units a month in a premium CUV market that is bonkers is a FAILURE. People don't want the Range Rover Escape as much as the hypesters would want you to think.

Gorgeous! Better looking than its German competition. Infinitely better looking than its Japanese competition. A draw with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is a total score.

A third row when all of the competition has 2 will be a huge draw to small families. Clean styling certainly does not hurt.

That Rover Evoque is really expensive with 4cylinder power. That's why it's not a big hit.
This sport is a good looker but will surely price itself out of the running too.

I have many questions... and any insight would be appreciated. So this seats 7 people and is a Macan/X3 competitor? Would love to know dimensions. Would have thought X5/MDX would be competition given that they are on the sporty side of 3 row SUVs. Will there be a Discovery Sport, a Discovery, and an LR4 for Land Rover 3 row vehicles? Either I must have missed a memo or Land Rover is going to have some customer-education issues when this is introduced.

High-res pictures are better, but this is a pretty nice design. Not great, but nice. The front-end is the best attribute. The interior is somewhat of a letdown. It has the excitement of a stripped rental car. Will have to see it in person.

Audi should be worried. They became a formidable #3 German Lux product by being distinctly "non-BMW/MB." At this moment, well managed brands like Alfa and Land Rover have the opportunity to appeal to the alternative premium luxury crowd that Audi has captured over the past decade or so.
