Audi Maintains Blistering Pace - Sets Multiple Records In August With A 22.1% Sales Increase
Audi achieved the best month ever in AoA sales history in August 2014. This month’s record sales increased to 22.1% to 17,101 vehicles, a total that stands as the 44th consecutive month of record monthly U.S. sales for the brand. Audi U.S. sales year-to-date have increased 14.5% to 116,066 vehicles.

Audi has maintained steady momentum throughout 2014, with the best-ever August result. The previous August record was set in 2013 with sales of 14,005 vehicles.

“Audi dealers nationwide are selling new models as quickly as they are delivered to showrooms – resulting in the best month ever in AoA history,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “By accelerating 2015 model introductions we are able to keep pace with this momentum to carry it through the end of 2014 and beyond.”

Audi August sales also improved throughout the lineup when compared to year-earlier results. The A3, A4, allroad, A5, and Q7 all posted sales gains.

August results were bolstered by sales of Audi luxury SUVs, with the Audi Q7 crossover posting a 25.8% gain on 1,859 units sold for the month. Year-to-date sales for the Audi Q5 increased 6.1%, while YTD sales for the Audi Q7 increased 25.1%.

After its April U.S. sales debut, the 2015 Audi A3 models have maintained a strong and consistent sales pace. August 2014 brought 2,430 A3 sales to solidify the model’s standing among the top three of the brand’s best sellers.

August is the 13th consecutive month and all-time record sales for Audi Certified pre-owned. This month marked an increase of 29.6% and a total of 4,733 CPO vehicles sold; CPO sales year-to-date increased 17.6%.

A fantastic August sales result for Audi and another sign that Audi has tremendous momentum in the U.S. market with YTD sales up an impressive 14.5%. 44 consecutive months of year-over year sales growth is a huge achievement.

Look for the Q3 SUV to add significant sales volume in the months ahead.

Well the rebadged TOYOTAS are doing wonders for LEXUS, just wait until the new RAV4/NX comes out. LEXUS will be back to number 1 in luxury sales volume in the US. "What's good for the goose is good for the gander", isn't it?

As expected Audi continues to suffer at the mid-high end

Good for Audi though I think the total number is well skewed by the A3

Now, as their parent company I hope they do something to help VW USA.

Look at Mercedes-Benz running downmarket so quickly. The CLA and GLA were designed because Mercedes realized that depending on the S-class and E-class to grow global sales volume was a poor decision.

Speaking of the CLA, looks like it outsold the A3 again for August and is expected to break into 3k per month when inventory returns to 100%

Unfortunately for Audi, they focused too much on low end and are severely suffering at the high end, while Benz have their lineup balance and that S Class, is moving units as if it had no competition.

Nuttie, Mercedes was already downmarket with the A-Class and B-Classes in international markets. They simply added to the A-Class with the CLA and GLA.

Why not add Porsche to that mix? After all, the Porsche Macan and Audi Q5 share a platform and the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne do too.

While we're at it, why not throw Bentley in there too. It is, of course, part of the Volkswagen Auto Group and uses Audi and Porsche platforms, engines etc.

Lets also merge Honda & Acura, Toyota & Lexus, Chevy & Cadillac, Nissan & Infiniti, should we continue?

A double digit increase is easy when you're a marginal player. In the USA, Audi can only DREAM of Mercedes and BMW volumes.

How's that facelifted 2015 A8 doing? While busy entering new segments it looks like the beginning of painful declines for the long-cycle A8, A7 and A6. Amazingly the uber long in the tooth Q7 continues to gain share. I predict the underlying gremlins at VW are about to hit Audi unless their product planners are permitted to become more aggressive.
