Production Be Damned: German Union Tells Volkswagen It Is Canceling Sunday Shifts
Volkswagen's powerful works council has cancelled Sunday shifts at VW's Wolfsburg plant in Germany for the third quarter, a step that further jeopardizes the plant's production target, German magazine Bilanz reported on Wednesday.

Existing production problems at Wolfsburg will already cause annual output to be "clearly below" a planned in-house target of almost 850,000 cars, but remain above the 807,000 cars produced last year, sources familiar with the company have said.

On Wednesday, Bilanz reported that the works council had decided to cancel scheduled Sunday shifts during the third quarter, which were planned to help VW make up production shortfalls

And VW keeps insisting on a Union "works council" here in the US? VW is on the same road as GM.

Not exactly the same. VW at least owns some of the most luxurious automobile brands in the entire world, when GM only has crappy brands that never appeal to people all around the world.

VW doesn't get that unions are greedy and toxic. I hope VW implodes and dies. As John Lennon said...

"Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead"
