UH OH! Did Land Rover Just Price Its All-New Discovery Sport TOO HIGH?
Seen last night for the very first time without any camouflage was the all-new Land Rover DIscovery Sport. Seen as a replacement for the Freelander — thank God — the all-new Disco is a vehicle that will be aiming to take on the likes of the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.

Or is that wrong? Is it really meant to go up against the Q5, X3 and GLK-Class?

2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport

Here's the thing. If it's the former, the company may have made a boo boo because it's a bit more premium than the other entry-level luxury sport-utility vehicles. Now, if it's aiming to take on the latter, the company may be onto something as it has 5+2 seating. It may be only able to fit a torso, but people do look at the extra two seats as a huge bonus.

Let us know what you think of the baby Land Rover's all-new asking price of $37,995*.

*This does not include the $925 destination fee.

Is this really in question? Dimensions alone, it is clearly going up against the X3/Q5/NX. And with a 3rd row, it has some edge against the competition that may draw in some shoppers. Price is also right for the competition.

Right, really stupid thread/question. This thing is going to sell like hotcakes.

The entry price seems about right - very competitive even.

I guess if you're accustomed to the old LR lineup, the pecking order of vehicle offering has changed a bit I guess.

Range Rover
RR Sport
LR4/Discovery
Discovery Sport
Evoque
LR2

Anyone that knew the old Disco/LR4 is a full size SUV which cost maybe $65k-$70k. So this Disco Sport is pretty slick at half price. Smaller all-terrain performance but no V8. Seems ok.

They have always been expensive but that's part of their appeal.

I love the exterior, but the interior is somewhat of a letdown. It already looks dated compared to its competition.

Priced right? Interesting question. Exterior looks good. Off-road ability will be top notch. But the interior says "$20,000" to me, even after I configured it various ways on the LR site.

40K for a freelander called Discovery? It looks nice but it does worth it.
