SPIED: Step Aside A3 And CLA - BMW 1-Series Is Ready Steal Your Thunder!

Step aside Audi A3 Sedan and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class! BMW is bringing out its own small sedan in the next few years and it’s going to be front-wheel drive as well. Codenamed F52, the front-wheel drive BMW 1 Series Sedan was just caught testing on public roads by our trusty spy photographers for the first time.

Just earlier today we were writing about the success Audi’s cheap, entry-level sedan (the A3) and Mercedes-Benz’s own 4-door Coupe CLA-Class (a sedan in our book as well) are recording in the US. It turns out, BMW was listening and is developing its own rival.

The Mini platform that this is based on is a darty, torque steering design. The A3 is pure GTI and the CLA is almost as good.

The Backbone of BMW is basically the 3/4 series, all other cars are good but not to the 3/4 series level to keep it up with the competence, Which is not bad as long as BMW keeps the Sport Identity, but hopefully this new car will be a real hit.

BMW is known for its RWD platform not FWD. Audi, on the other hand, has built quite the reputation for building compact real wheel drive cars that are competent.

The 1-Series will be no easy task for BMW. Audi's A3 sedan has given the Mercedes-Benz CLA the smack down in comparison tests and is almost matching it in sales before even the TDI, S3 and Cabriolet models have reached most dealers.
