CONTENDER OR PRETENDER? Lexus Counting On RC 350 To Be A Warning Call To The Germans
Lexus is counting on its new 2015 RC 350 sports coupe to take on BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz in a segment dominated by the German luxury brands.

And that may be the easy part of the car’s mission.

The automaker is also looking for the RC and its track-worthy variant, the RC F, to redefine what Lexus stands for. “We want to make a bold statement,” said Brian Smith, vice president of Lexus marketing. The RC is intended to “change the face of Lexus.”

Except for that hideous front end and trendy (AKA easily dated) lighting, it looks pretty good.

I like this, I hope they price it right so I can get one.

It looks like somebody over inflated a Audi TT.

Lexus RC-F's price starts at 63,000 dollars. That's not so bad after all, as it is a little bit cheaper than an M4.

And not to mention RC-F looks a lot more luxurious and aggressive than that soccer mom car "M4".

Is it a contender, or a pretender? Definitely THE contender.

Lexus = The best luxury brand in the entire world

It stands out, that's for sure, but not in a good way. Just way too much going on. I think it's incredibly ugly.

I actually like the RC350 more than the RC-F, style-wise.

Not me, I like the RC-F better; not such a gaping grill and as crazy as the intakes are they make sense for the design 'which is over the top.' I am not a fan of the lower rear slats either.

Another silly comment from someone who hates Lexus just to hate.

Sorry, this is clearly a pretender. The RC350 goes 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. It weighs about 3800 lbs. It has zero back seat leg room. It's cockpit looks completely claustrophic and cramped not to mention a the smallest trunk space. The placement of the info screen looks terrible. The center console plastic facade overlap of the interior trim looks cheap. The F-Sport will probably cost as much as an S5 and 435i, and both are far superior performers and overall packages, while having much more appealing designs.

And, frankly, the exterior styling already looks dated, the risk of such expressive styling.

Pass.

I preferred the ISF to the M3 simply because it was so brutal. I suspect I will like the RCF as well.

I don't think Germans should be afraid of something this ugly.

Ugly is the new design trend at Toyota design studios, that's if they have a studio because this looks like it was designed in someone's backyard by a confused teenager who is high on some unidentifiable shit

This is really a beautiful car! I do like both models...they each can hold their own from both a style and performance perspective.
