PARIS MOTOR SHOW: Citroen Goes Mad And Shows Off The DIVINE Concept — Silk, Reptiles, WTF Is Going On HERE?
In a day and age where actual concept cars are not usually that, it's nice to see someone still trying to innovate and use their imagination. Who better than the French?

In anticipation of the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Citroen has started showing off what it will be bringing to the Parisian affair — the Divine DS Concept. And, if we're honest, it's quite mad. That's what we like about it!

More or less the auto shows of yesteryear where zany products were conceived for the hell of it, are over. Once and a while something like this pops up and we think it's only right to embrace it. That's because we love the imagination of a designer to was inspired by a reptiles' scales to create this Citroen's roof, and the silk beaded interior.

It's pretty remarkable, if you ask us.

That said, make sure to scope out ALL of the images by scrolling down. If you want more information on the car, check out what Top Gear has to say about it by clicking "Read Article" below!

...So what is the Divine made up of? The chuffing fast 1.6-litre turbocharged engine from the new Peugeot RCZ R sits under the bonnet of what otherwise appears to be half car, half expensive bauble. Developing 270bhp and 244lb ft of torque, the Divine should certainly be lively to drive.

Aside from the engine, a particular French type of concept madness abounds. The roof has been designed to resemble ‘the scales of a reptile'. The craziness doesn't end there: its a mixture of opaque and transparent surfaces are intended to play with light, while there's not actually a rear window...

00R - I agree with you on the "concept cars" of the last decade is nothing more than last minute certification that the market will accept this production ready car. Citroen is one of the very few car mfrs that still take risks with concept cars, akin to true R&D. And this concept design is great, inside and out.

For those that don't know Citroen, look up their 2CV, DS, BX, CX, SM, XM.

Are you sure it is new? Looks like an Audi nose, BMW series 1 rear quarter panels & AMC pacer rear deck to me. Overall not as UGLY as most French cars. Still, I wouldn't mind having one of the mid-engined Citroen 206s.

The exterior looks killer, but the interior is ridiculous.
