DING DING DING! We Have A Winner! Agent 00R's Brother Snaps Up A New Set Of Wheels
Yesterday night I relayed news to you that my brother had been involved in an accident late this week on his way to work.

Unfortunately, his Infiniti G37 didn't make it. Thankfully, he was not injured in any way, nor was the other party involved. That's the good news.

Of course with a limited timeframe on his rental car — it goes back by Tuesday — he had to find a set of wheels he'd be willing to live with for quite sometime — until it dies. With a list of NEEDS I posted yesterday, we set out to find him a new ride.

Well, we've got a winner, folks.

Although it wouldn't have been my pick, my brother has pulled the trigger on a deep sea blue and saddle 2011 BMW 328i xDrive. It's in pretty good nick and has been certified by the dealer.

Personally speaking, I probably would have opted for an economy car that gets better mpg and skipped the navigation and all-wheel drive. The reality is if you learn to drive in the snow you typically won't find yourself in a heap of trouble. And, as Agent 001 posted yesterday, there's absolutely ZERO reason for navigation in a modern car as your smartphone of choice will take care of that for you with Waze.

That said, thank you for the suggestions! I greatly appreciate it. Enjoy your weekend!

Nice, but I wish he would of gotten the coupe instead, it has the newer lighting scheme and just looks and
Feels more special, but well done nonetheless

I know there are some great finance rates on 11 CPO's hope he was able to take advantage of those. Good choice it would have been my pick.

Opting for the xDrive in the northeast is a no brainer. Would not have it any other way, especially when the alternative is a rear wheel drive 328i. I have had RWD in the northeast before and it is no fun. Today I go with the confidence of AWD.

As for the nav, I would not waste my money when I lease a new car, but on a used car, the cost increase is minimal and worth it.

Overall a good choice, although darker blues are not my cup of tea on BMWs.

That seems like more of a downgrade from a G37x. There's nothing wrong with a 328xi, but at that level, it's more of an appliance with some really expensive components, JMO.

My parents used to have a 2011 528xi for the Rochester, NY weather. No doubt a capable car, but my god was it boring as hell.

Well, to each their own.

First impressions from my brother are that it drives MUCH better and its interior parts have better feel and fit/finish.

Trust me the 328i x is definitely a step up from the G37, unfortunately Infiniti takes too many cues from Nissan when it comes to plastics in interior, the ride is better and it feels more special.

Getting navigation...mixed bag when buying anything used from at least a few years ago. In most cars - I think - opting for the version with navigation ensures you're also getting an up-level sound system (6-12 speakers in many cases) & not the basic radio with basic controls & the deep "can" sounding system. Yes, you can go cheap - get the basic system - then do the aftermarket upgrades. But for most drivers, that's a separate additional expense & hassle (which won't be covered in any dealer warranty) that they won't want to bother with.

Getting the "loaded" model may - in most cases - get you all the bells/whistles along with a great sounding "integrated" system that came with the vehicle.

...forgot to mention...

In most of those top level radio options, the nav is most-likely included. And more than likely, you'll get a rear-view camera or so other driver-assist goodies which could be appreciated later. And when buying CPO, it's kinda nice to get a good price for a vehicle with all the options included, especially if it's all still covered under warranty.

How much was the purchase price? how many miles on it? manual or auto? Interested to know as I am soon looking for a used BMW 3-series around 2011 or 2013 model year.
