Buying the first of a new generation is fraught with anxieties and risk. Add in the introduction of aluminum body work, and designers are asking buyer to be guinea pigs. Aluminum is not nearly as robust and strong as steel which is extra notable in a truck application.

Isn' it the other way around? You can make a much stiffer chassis with aluminum and still save weight. But you are right about first generation products especially with such a huge change.
