Mercedes-Benz 510 HP Bi-Turbo C63 AMG Just Kicked BMW's M3 To The Curb
So you just went out and bought yourself a new BMW M3. Think you’re hot shit and all, right? Ok, yeah, you are. The M3 is a ridiculously cool and powerful German cruise missile. But the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is going to be even better. Try around 85 horsepower better. Mercedes has just announced the official output for the new C63 AMG, and it’s just nuts: 510 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, thanks to its 4.0-liter biturbo V8. That’s the exact same engine found in the also new and delectable AMG GT.

Holy crap. That's awesome. Hopefully the chassis and drivetrain will be able to put that power to the ground appropriately.

I gotta say, I test drove the C300 this weekend and what an amazing piece of machinery. The C300 was seriously impressive for a turbo 4. Silky smooth, responsive, rode on glass, but handled very sharply. And the interior was absolutely sublime. The "tack-on" screen worked well and didn't feel "tacked on" at all. I wish I had the chance to test the C400 as well, but maybe sometime this week.

If that is the standard C63, then the car is in its own class.

Agreed, that appears to be the current trend Mercedes is going with, there are flagships and entry level luxury cars and then there's the S Class and C Class, hopefully the E Class will follow suit!

Very impressed with the way the chassis handles corner entry/exit as well as the uneven payment. The chassis never appeared to become unsettled. looks like another winner for Mercedes!

Well, if this MB is no better than the past models of AMG powered cars, trying to compare it to the M3 is a joke, right? Every half respected auto magazine or website that has ever driven one says the engine is way too much for the chassis. The argument that horsepower always wins belongs to the 13-year olds of the world.

Oh, and by the way, the standard C300 is just a mess from a design standpoint in my opinion.

The AMG C's have been more powerful and faster in a straight line than the M's for a number of years. This is nothing new, and ya, it seems the consensus is that the Merc's can't put the power down. It's just a numbers show. I'll take the M3.

I doubt the standard version of the C63 will be more powerful than both the standard AND S versions of the AMG GT, which share the same engine and start in price where the C63 ends.

So far the C63 is better than the M3 for me, , design, performance, durability, and security, I know will be heavier than the M3, but also more secure thanks to all safety features... By the way, a lot of magazines prefer it over M3 and numbers also say clearly that is faster in any open road (where everyone use a car) M3 nice and quicker in a a track (cage) cause the marginal advantage in less weight, but beyond that point the C63 is the king and will continue as far as I can see for now.

Weighs closer to an M5 than an M3, so it needs the extra horses!

Looks okay, but the silver trim on the front bumper looks as silly as it does on Audi's RS models.
