Is Audi Taking On The Panamera With New Paris Bound TT Sportback?

Is Audi Taking On The Panamera With New Paris Bound TT Sportback?
Take this with a small grain of salt, but it seem Audi wants to show a second new TT in Paris, besides the roadster. This sketch of a four-door coupe has just hit the web and claims its the real deal, an internal drawing of a four-door coupe concept. The car shown in Paris is just a preview to gauge people's reactions and you can definitely tell from the sketch, which has flush door handles.

A few weeks ago, Audi development chief Ulrich Hackenberg hinted that the company will add a third TT body type. However, this was interpreted as a production version of the TT offroad concept shown in Beijing earlier this year. At the time of the rumor, we said making the coupe into a crossover would ruin all its best traits –compact, light and dynamic – and that a four-door coupe would be preferable.

That's a pretty sweet looking TT concept. Probably doesn't help the rear space much though.

This concept looks awesome! Audi is really delivering on its promise of a more aggressive and differentiated exterior design philosophy.

"Audi is really delivering on its promise of a more aggressive and differentiated exterior design philosophy."

Please show me that on this sketch.

As I recall - Porsche and Audi are both owned by the same company
I cannot see why they would compete with themselves - when they should be competing with Reliable transportation from other manufacturers

@TomM they are but because an idiot (Piech) runs the company, the brands step on each other and quality/reliability is in the toilet because--next to Piech--the German union calls the shots and their crap for workers cannot be fired. VWAG is the new (old) GM of the 70s.

Audi just bested Mercedes. The A3 is a better car than the CLA, but it is a conventional sedan. Add in a 4-door TT and the CLA is in deep caca. This is a great way to make the TT relevant again.

By the time this car comes to fruition, if it truly does and if it truly looks like this, then the CLA will be up for redesign.

And let me add that the 4D TT and the CLA wouldn't be in the same price class. The TT would start at least $10k more than the CLA. I figured you would know that, Darringer.

@cidflekken you usually miss the obvious point because you have no vision and in this case no marketing sense. REPOSITIONING the TT as a 4 door coupesedan alternative to the A3 would make it relevant. The TT in its current market placement is irrelevant, shunned and forgotten. Repurposing the name to do a one-two punch against the CLA would be pure genius.

Audi shows no intention of dropping the TT a level just to compete. Did you see any indication of that with the introduction of the TT coupe? Not at all. Why would they choose to do so with the a TT 4-door and further convolute their mission of re-establishing the TT as an iconic name and model? It's not a question of vision, my friend, it's a question of common sense for the importance of Audi's market position.

LOL. Did you just try to find a clever way to call me a moron? Are you truly that childish, Darringer? Seriously? Credibility = ZERO.
