New Cadillac Top Of The Line Flagship To Be Named CT6

Cadillac said today that it will name its new, lineup-topping sedan the CT6, marking the start of a top-to-bottom overhaul of the luxury brand's nomenclature.

“The Cadillac CT6 continues our brand’s elevation and global growth,” Cadillac chief marketing officer Uwe Ellinghaus said in a statement. “CT6 will constitute an entirely new approach to the prestige sedan, emphasizing a dynamic driving experience and advanced technology.”

The rear-wheel-drive sedan that is slated for a launch in late 2015 was code-named LTS during its internal development. Ellinghaus said earlier this year that he viewed Cadillac's naming strategy as a weakness and was working on revising it.

What is with these idiotic A-Z0-9 codes he's assigning to every car he's EVER been involved with? It's like a part of a VIN. Audi, Infiniti, now Cadillac, it's like he thinks it's all one company.

I can promise you the fucker wanted to name it C6 cause the likes to keep it one letter and one number but they informed him that it will be confused with sixth-gen Corvettes. That's the only reason it's CT6 and not something even worse.

This just in. ATS to be renamed CT2; CTS to be renamed CT4; ATS Coupe to be renamed CT5. The Audi exec is doing his cookie cutter job.

Once his naming job is done at Cadillac, he can move to his new job at Acura

That's a bad move. They need to start naming cars again. Ct this, AT that, RXLQBE whatever. I'm not saying bring back the Braugham but damn enough with the numbers and letters.

Infiniti didn't lose him. They were about to fire him I'll bet. What in HELL was Cadillac thinking? If he was so amazing he'd still be making magic at Audi. And what magic did he make at Audi? Audi has ALWAYS lagged in perception, quality, and dynamic performance behind Mercedes and BMW and it still does.

Johan de Nutyeast is an idiot of epic proportion. Cadillac should have returned to names.
