Strong Sales In China Push VW Phaeton Launch Back To 2018
Although the next generation is virtually complete and ready to roll, it seems that the Germans at Volkswagen have decided to push off the launch of their flagship Phaeton. The reason? Uh oh, who let this happen? The Phaeton has that perfect stately executive sedan look.

The way *I* see it, the Phaeton has the "big Jetta" look. Nothing stately about it.

@TheSteve it is utterly unremarkable. I'd rather drive the unremarkable looking Hyundai Equus which is marginally less unremarkable than the unremarkable Phaeton if I had to drive an unremarkable vehicle.

The Hyundai would be infinitely more reliable. Phaetons were not known for reliability or quality build.

NA dealers want a "Phaeton" but they want is sized and priced like an Avalon/Impala/Taurus, but the Gestapo leader Piech knows better. We can only hope the Fourth Reich is conquered for VW's sake.

It's obvious the Phaeton isn't considered a crucial halo product for NA. So what is/will be?
