PARIS MOTOR SHOW: AWESOME or AWFUL? Is The Lexus NX Designed By Will.i.am A STUD or DUD?

We all know that there are a slew of celebrities into cars. Of course there's a handful of comedians that have vast collections. Then there are a variety of other Hollywood A-listers that have something to do with the automotive community.

Then there is Will.i.am. Best known for his work in the band Black Eyed Peas, he's also known to the automotive community. If you ask me, he's not revered like the other gearheads. There's a reason for this.

His one-off creations are, for a lack of a better word, retarded. Personally, I wouldn't trust the guy who always is dressed like he's an extra from Total Recall to design a car, but that's just me.

So why Toyota's luxury division, Lexus, got him involved in a custom NX is beyond my comprehension. Perhaps the company wanted to spice it up a bit and get a recognizable face in front of the younger demographic slated to be the primary buyers of the all-new NX?

Frankly, I think the vehicle speaks for itself and we're looking forward to it getting into customer's hands — we think it's going to do great numbers.

Seeing that Will I Am is a young, black male, and this is a conservative website....I'mma go out on a limb and guess that 90% of responses are going to be negative. Of course they will code it with opinions on the actual car design, like they hate Obama because of his "policies". But we all know the deal.....lol

I'm with mrcassis here. Every report I have seen of this has devolved into some blogosphere racist nastiness directed to will.I.am, treating him like he's some "thug" who has nothing valuable to contribute to anything. His contributions to music and culture over the past 5 years have been extraordinary. And he's probably super popular in Europe. He's young, hip and pretty damn smart. Since Lexus is trying to play up this car as part of a young hip culture, I think he is a great fit for this debut, especially in Europe.

I don't see a racist behind every bush like some might. I can't stand Obama because he is purposely trying to destroy the country. It has nothing to do with his skin color. Hilary the Communist is just as bad and she's not black. It's politics not racism. My two favorite candidates for next President are Ben Carson & Alan West. Both great men and patriots who love the country. Wouldn't that be a refreshing change.

Yes, his music does suck...lol. But marketing to the non >65 demographic is the purpose of his selection. And millennials, not middle aged white conservative males like those who make this site go round, is who Lexus is targeting. So to ask Autospies readers their opinions on this Lexus model is pointless.
