No Hybrid For You? Audi's Range Topping R10 To Have 850HP V10

The rumor mill is filled with foul-tasting speculative reports that never pan out. However, once in a while, an idea comes along that's so amazing, so outlandish that we simply have to report on it. The Audi R10 fits that description perfectly, a supercar to rival Ferrari's best from the same company that makes ordinary executive saloons.

According to the Swedish edition of Auto Motor und Sport, Audi is working on a supercar to sit above the R8 in the range. This would be called the R10 and offer performance and pricing to rival that of the recent roster of hypercars (McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder).

Audi doesn't have that kind of engine displacement so it's hard to see a 6 liter V10 in the pipeline.

I seriously doubt they have plans to top the R8 V10 in the range.

But don't they have access to a W10 or W12 engine setup? Those engines can be turbo'd as well I'm thinking.

They need to get their bread and butter models right first. Will never buy an Audi again, holy quality niggles. Sorry but Audi needs to learn a thing or two about reliability from the Porsche cousin.

if its over 100k, its out of most peoples range anyway.. ( definitely out of mine )
