Has It Come To This? EcoBoost Mustang Has Engine Sound Enhanced By The Stereo System
Along with turbo lag, the other major complaint about turbocharged engines is their lack of emotional sound. A naturally aspirated or supercharged engine is what enthusiasts prefer. Ford is trying very hard to prove this wrong with its EcoBoost engine lineup, as evidenced by the optional 2.3-liter unit in the new 2015 Mustang. With more power and better fuel economy than the base V6 for not much extra money, buyers may think they’re getting the best of both worlds.

You mean like some BMW models which already have artificial engine noise channeled through their sound systems?

This trend is a refection of the current world wide values where appearances and entertainment are valued more than substance and inherent character. You are what you drive !

I know on this forum the maserati ghibli gets bashed a lot, but if any of you would drive it and hear that damn exhaust, you would be shocked at what a monster it sounds like from a turbo 3.0 v6 !
they definitely got it right and i wish other car makers could do what they were able to with a turbo.
my 4.0 v8 m3 didnt sound as good. artificial or not, what ever it takes to make the car sound good works for me.
the is-f got a bad rap because of " fake tailpipes " - still had a nice muscle car rumble so i dont know why people complained about it.
