Everyone Loves A Good Deal: Viper Sales Rebound After Price Cut

Apparently, when a fantastic product is overpriced, doing the logical thing and slashing that price can do wonders for sales. Just ask Dodge. That’s what finally seems to be working.

Dodge gave the 2015 Dodge Viper a significant price cut in response to slow sales, applying the cut to remaining 2014 models as well. Not surprisingly, the car is selling better than it was bef

A Hemi Viper at Stingray prices would be a delight.

Wow 108 sold in a month...more Corvette C7's are sold in one day! How low must Dodge go to attract as many buyers ? Tells you all you need to know...the C7 is the best performance buy sports car bar none.

About 180 C7s are made per day which barely meets demand. Yep the Viper sells 50 times fewer cars. But it never really captured people's hearts like the Vette. It's a cool car and the performance is legendary and I've always liked the unapologetic brutality of it. But yeah, _obviously_ people don't cross-shop these cars much because if they did you wouldn't see a 50:1 purchase ratio.

the viper doesnt have the same heritage as the corvette but i still love having two american monster sports cars. besides price, another huge problem viper has to face is the FACT that many people cant/ dont want to drive manuals ! im positive if they had a nice dual clutch, their sales would be much better than they are.

an interesting way to find out how much truth is in my statement is to wait a year and see the actual sales numbers of the zo6 in manuals vs automatics.
the last generation only had manuals, and you would think its a no brainer but to get such a car with the 7 speed, but lets see what happens with this c7

Manual Stingrays are still probably 40+% of sales right now, but lack of an auto is not enough of a deterrent to explain THAT much of a sale discrepancy. I could see the Viper maybe doubling sales if an auto or dct were offered, but even that is probably being a bit optimistic. I'd guess GM sells probably 30% of Z06s as auto and the rest as manual, but of course it's pure speculation.
