Acura Promising New NSX Will Be A Cost Conscious Ferrari 458 Fighter
It's been kind of a while since we've heard anything about the upcoming 2015 Acura NSX, but the folks at Honda are still apparently hammering away at their hybrid supercar. And now they've released some actual performance targets: Ferrari 458 performance for an Audi R8 price tag. Sound familiar?

Funny you mention the lottery...a powerball winner bought a used NSX, not a new Ferrari...

This won't touch the 458, especially the 458 Speciale.

just cuz its an acura doesnt mean its garbage, do you guys not like the zo6 because its a chevy or the viper cuz its a dodge ?
if the upcoming zo6 can do it i dont see why the nsx wont be able to, i love the new design and think this is the 1 and only thing thats exciting in the acura lineup.

Well, they are pretty young I assume. They don't know the fact that the old NSX was so influential, McLaren and Ferrari were hugely impressed with it.

The next gen NSX will be a game changer. It will challenge Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Aventador, LaFerrari, Porsche 918, Pagani and Mercedes-Benz AMG GT.

JDMUSMuscle - You fool, this car WON'T COME CLOSE TO CHALLENGING THOSE CAR! I can't believe you're the big of an idiot to think that!

You don't know how great Honda really can be.

Oh please. This car won't be anywhere near those cars, especially the 918, P1 and LaFerrari and you know it. You're full of it.

Actually, I do remember the 1990s, the arrival of the NSX shocked the exotic auto industry and Ayrton Senna's success with Honda's F1 cars really opened their eyes. Unfortunately, Acura was not able to keep up with the momentum which leads to where they are today.

I think Acura was more unwilling than unable to keep up with the momentum. Their focus shifted and they (Honda/Acura) became unfortunate bean counters. They eliminated great products that were low-volume sellers: Prelude, S2000, CRX, CL, Type-S models, most Si models.

Theres no point having a high perfomance, super expensive sports car, when there's not a SINGLE other desirable vehicle in their or their parent company's lineup. They should have called it what it is, the honda nsx. That way, the lack of badge appeal and a boring lineup wouldn't have been an issue, like with nissan and the gtr or chevy with the vette or dodge and their viper.
