VIDEO: Consumer Reports Says Lexus RC F Outrageous Styling And Cheap Interior Make The BMW M4 A Better Choice
Reports snatched a new Lexus RC F and took the +450hp sports coupe for a spin to see what it's all about.

They found it to look the part on the outside with its "outrageous" styling, but they had a few niggles about the interior, mainly for its space and some cheap dashboard components that the tester said look out of place in a car costing north of $60,000.

No thanks on neither.

I'll take a 707hp Hellcat, please!

I believe Lexus's new styling language will be remembered as their version of BMW's Flame Surface movement: It's awesome, its' complex, it's for the discerning eye... it's "last decade," and we dumped it 'cuz the public knew The King Has No Clothes.

Consumer Reports is like going to your local diner that has sushi, burgers, greek, and italian on its menu. Nothing's good and the chef sucks.

The Japanese are always hated by those snobby, Europe-worshipping elitists or posers, but we all know this Lexus RC-F is just incredibly beautiful.

The Europe worshippers are madly deboosting my comment, but they know Lexus RC-F can take down M4, LaFerrari, Aventador, Porsche 918 and Bugatti Veyron.

Japanese engineering is the best. And the Japanese watches and fashion brands are also better than European.

Now let the Europe worshippers deboost this comment.

You forgot that it can also take down the Batmobile, Wonder Woman's invisible jet, Mr. Bean's Mini, and every go-kart from Mario Kart. The RC-F is pretty much unstoppable with its 0-60 time of 1.3 seconds and 3.56 second quarter mile with trap speed of 375mph.

Japanese engineering at its finest. It can also transform into a mech if a wild Porsche appears!

Beautiful looking, No! Mean, aggressive, and badass looking, Yes! The problems I have with the M4 are that it looks like any other 3 series on the road and the exhaust note is one of the worst I have heard for current makes. The N/A V-8 is also something I think will be very special in this car. Other than the center console where the stereo component is this interior does not look cheap at all.

Where are all those BMW lovers telling consumer reports to go back to reviewing toasters when they had negative reviews of BMWs? Is CR all of a sudden a credible source?

If you like a car, go drive it and review the car yourself. Any real enthusiast will not base a purchasing decision on any auto review.

CR is crap, they need to stay testing toasters but idiots that don't know anything about cars and need someone to help them make their decisions believe in them. Sad people indeed.
The RC-F is a great car but no one will dethrone the M4 regardless of how good they are, just like PORSCHE Caymans seems to win 99% of comparisons, same as the 3 series, the S-Class, the Camry, F-150 and so on.

...and your M3 looks like a base 3-series.

Agree there I actually really like the dash overall design, kind of looks like an excellent modernization of the E30 BMWs dash.

Have you seen it in person? If not, then you really can't be certain. I've seen the IS in person and driven it, and I can definitely say I agree with the "cheap-looking" sentiment on a few design elements.

forget CR, the color of this car is terrible, the styling is way overdone, and it is in fact very tight inside. it will not fare well

BabyBaby - 10/13/2014 1:47:43 AM

Yes this color is awful! I can't believe they would even put this on a car.

I will reserve judgment till I drive both. The E90 vs. the IS-F, the contest wasn't close.

Google CRs report of the M4. They talked about how they didn't like the car. But if you watched the same video with the volume off, their facial expressions told a different story. Anyways, if they didn't like the M4 but they still prefer the Rcf to it then wow. Although the RCF reviews have not been stellar overall.
The new C63 I bet they will like that. The interior of the new C63 is smoking. But I will still take a M4.

CR tests toasters to cars and are patently unintelligent across the board. CR is for Democrat, vegan, Prius drivers.
