Cadillac Places The Germans On Notice - Portfolio To Expand To 10 Models In Next 6 Years
Cadillac's new boss plans a blitz of new products by 2020, from a pure battery-electric car to an ultra-luxury sedan, that he hopes will help resurrect General Motors' struggling premium brand and make it a global powerhouse.

Johan de Nysschen, a former Audi and Infiniti executive who joined GM in August, shared with Reuters some key elements of his plan to revive Cadillac, in an interview last week at the Paris auto show.

All good until Mary Barra politely informs him that he has to fund his brand's growth with his own profits and not tin cup the mob he left in Detroit. Ooops.

Cadillac gives the Germans notifications every year...unfortunately the notifications are just that...notifications

The Germans on the other hand just DO, no warning necessary...

And of course the Germans will be sitting idle in the meantime...LOL!

If Cadillac doesn't ensure its dealers are providing more than superb service they're not going to get where they want to be. Product, yes, no question but Mercedes dealers treat their customers MUCH differently than Cadillac. Although I think many MB Sales people are arrogant @$$e$, and many very much are, Cadillac must do better. I've taken my car in multiple times and there is always something they didn't do, or the car wasn't washed I don't think they've ever vacuumed my car? Little things... returning something you've paid a lot of money for, it shows they took care of it. I got my Black ATS back yesterday and there is a scratch on the door...that's unacceptable when you spend that kind of $ on an automobile. One thing is for sure, I'll never take it back to that dealer again. Now little old ladies might not care or notice but folks who are shopping all the 4 major Luxury cars (MB/BMW/Audi/Cadillac) will not return to Cadillac if they've experience the Customer Svc at a majority of MB dealers... I think that "they" think I'm a prima donna, but I'm not and that attitude also irritates. I'm nearly done myself...

I agree, Cadillac not only needs to be the equal or better in product, but also in Service as well as the "Customer Experience". It has to be BETTER than Mercedes to woo customers and make conquest sales.

Did you "seriously" expect the luxury European automakers' dealership sales people to be "humble"?

Those American salesmen working for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Ferrari and such are happy that their almighty European gods have blessed them with jobs that they do not deserve, and you actually think they'd care about people who buy something like used C or E class?

Which is why I prefer Cadillac. At least you as a customer, you can make fun of their cars and the brand.

I've just the opposite experience with my local Cadillac dealer. Took my 10 year old SRX to them for the first time. Fantastic interaction while it was there, and came back spotless looking ready for a used car lot. His brother owns the VW store where we bought my wife's EOS. It comes back as dirty as it went in.

Here the Cadillac dealer is an adjunct to the Chevy dealer and you actually have to look to find the Cadillac dealer.

When the dealer built their new location, they put the dealership at the far back end of the lot and all their new and used stock is parked in front. You literally cannot see the dealer from the street.

I'd co-brand Cadillac with Corvette--making the latter a 3 vehicle brand entry/Stingray/Zora--and do stand alone dealers.

Quite frankly, GM will need to get all Cadillac dealers as separate stores and subsidize them to keep them open while they attract new customers and learn to treat them right.

I am expecting a lot from the new Cadillac.

As Cadillac is now in New York City, the "only" remaining world class city in all of the United States of America, I am expecting Cadillac to do a lot better than ever to challenge the mighty Europeans.

I expect Cadillac to make a Rolls-Royce Phantom competitor as well.

The Sixteen would fill that slot nicely, but Jockitch de Niaspan want to dawdle with dumber than dumb names.

Giving Cadillac real names would one an instant way for them to stand out. The CT6 should be introduced as the Elmiraj with names returning as cars are redone.

How obnoxious and conceited Cadillac is.
I predict the arrogance of Cadillac will prove to embarrass and obstruct any success as they continue making Chevy cars with Cadillac emblems.

caddy still needs to work on some of their designs. im definitely a cadillac fan and would like for them to succeed, but im VERY disappointed with the way the " 3 series" competitor looks.
how could caddy build something as nice as the cts make something so plain and ugly as the ats ?
just look at that design carefully, wheel arches look bad, design just looks off.
escalade and cts i love though.

Honestly that's your opinion. I have a Black ATS 3.6 w/Red Leather interior and get compliments on it, CONSTANTLY! Its great looking and unique in a sea of me too looking cars. The CTS as well is striking vs the E Class, A6 and 5 Series, very unique, original and sophisticated looking.
