Could The Upcoming Kia GT Become A Poor Man's Panamera?

The sleek and sporty Kia GT Concept that debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show has reportedly been approved for production.

Speaking to Edmunds at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Kia executives confirmed that a production version of the GT Concept (pictured above) is in Kia’s upcoming product portfolio and could arrive sometime in 2016. With its four-door coupe design and luxurious cabin, it will aim to appeal to car shoppers seeking a sporty image and could be viewed essentially as a poor man’s Audi A7 or even Porsche Panamera.

Tone down the chrome, blackout and change the wheels to something more traditional [fins or mesh]; and I do think it has chance...as long as there is decent power and RELIABILITY.

As long as the Kia GT has a V8 8-sp trans & AWD, it should be a worthy option for consumers who like that kind of vehicle style. Kia's transmissions are fairly aggressive, so it should be a good performer on the street & highways.

To answer the question -NO

To be the POOR man's Panamera - it would have to be considerably less expensive than the X900 - which it won't be

And to be considered in the same breathe - it will have to be something other than a KIA

Hyundai/Kia needs to come up with a New - premium brand - if it is really serious about selling premium vehicles. Even if they produced the very best car in the world - it would have problems selling because of the name

They need to lose the weird looking front fenders. The rest isn't bad.

They got the poor and ugly right. But come on, why did Autostupid stop at Panamera. This piece of junk imitation is clearly the rich man's Bentley.

Better hire some more Germans to copy their cars for them, maybe then they can compete against the Japanese without selling at a loss.
