Agent 001 Snaps FIRST REAL-LIFE Shots Of The 2015 Audi A3 TDI On The Road — OFFICIAL Pricing And INFO HERE!
If you've been wondering where our very own Agent 001 has been recently, I'll keep it brief: on the road.

The head honcho of AutoSpies is traveling from New Mexico to beautiful San Diego with Audi so he can get some wheel time with the 2015 Audi A3 TDI and all-new A3 Cabriolet. This is a particularly important vehicle to get some impressions of simply because the diesel variants of vehicles like the last-gen A3 and the Q7 have sold particularly well.

We know this because when you broke down the mix of products sold in the last-gen A3 and Q7 lineups, the TDIs accounted for approximately 50 percent of sales. That's a HUGE number!

Now that the A3 can be had in a more broadly accepted form factor — a sedan — we're very interested to see if this vehicle gets more traction as consumers look to increase their MPGs.

Although the information sheet we've attached for you to download says the A3 TDI can rack up 31/43/36, city/highway/combined MPG, 001 was able to achieve as high as 61.4 MPG.

Pricing starts at $32,600* excluding taxes and fees.

*NOTE: this does NOT include a $925 transportation fee.

Stunning. This should really put immense pressure on the Mercedes-Benz CLA. I predict the A3 Sedan will now outsell the CLA on a monthly basis.

Buyers can have excellent efficiency in the A3 Sedan - a huge draw for those looking to spend less than $40K on a car.

This car looks like a Jetta. Apparently this is the same platform as the Jetta.

While the interior is nicely designed, the exterior looks as interesting as a slice of white bread. Yawn.

The interior is pretty spartan, TBH.

Actually a funny thing happened at the dealership today when I was getting my car serviced. I was talking to the advisor and I said something like, " the A3 is doing well, huh?" and he looked at me and said, "you don't want to get into that" and just shook his head at me. Not 100% sure why he said that, but I thought it was unusual. It certainly wasn't positive.

A rarity in NYC and South Florida.
