Take THAT Google: Driverless RS 7 Laps Track Within 5 Seconds Of Human - Reaches Speeds Of 190 MPH
Two Audi RS 7 performance sedans raced around a track in northern Germany. The car without a driver won this matchup by five seconds.

In its effort to bring autonomous-driving technology to the streets, the Volkswagen unit is testing unmanned vehicles at speeds as fast as 305kph (190 mph) In these experiments, the car decides for itself the best way to take the corners in its race against human drivers.

The map the car gets “just contains the left and right boundaries of the track,” Peter Bergmiller, an Audi technician, said Monday during a test on a track in Oschersleben, west of Berlin, with a vehicle named Bobby. “The car starts to think about it and generates its optimal line.”

Looks a bit meaner than the Google pod. VW/Audi have been doing driveless for quite a while now people just think that Google was first or ahead of the game for whatever reason.

A pointless use of technology

Another stupid comment from MDarringer. Tell a blind person or a severely handicapped individual who would love the opportunity to go to the grocery store. You probably take the normal trip to the grocery store for granted, but someone who is blend and wants that autonomy, doesn't want to be a burden on anyone or simply wants to experience what you and I take for granted, would say otherwise. You always seem to open your mouth up and insert foot. You also probably think research to help a paralyzed person or a soldier who lost their limbs is a waste of money too.

Seriously... what's the "blind" population 2%? With 52Million cars recalled for stupid $&$% and other things, seems the car companies should not be signing up for a car that drives itself. How many law suits are coming when this goes main stream? Yeah, great technology a 2 ton missile is careening through traffic on its own......
