Exotic Car Companies To Explore Sub $100K Models To Boost Sales

Exotic car companies, eager to extend their reach beyond the super-rich, are offering increasing numbers of "accessible" luxury cars.

That is, if you consider $100,000 accessible.

Aston-Martin this year unveiled its V-8 Vantage GT Coupe, defined as "an accessible race car" by Julian Jenkins, president of Aston Martin's American operations.

The sporty GT-themed car — capable of a 190-mph top speed and going zero to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds — is the English company's first vehicle under the $100,000 mark. That's a bargain compared with the $302,000 sticker on a Vanquish Volante or the $154,000 for a mid-level Vantage S.

The Italian luxury automobile company Maserati, too, has gone down-market.

Wow! Under $100,000. Add about $7,500 in taxes and then the necessary $10,000 in needed options so you are looking at a base vehicle at almost $120,000. or more. And everyone knows you have the cheapie model.

Tell me luxury car makers are not in touch with reality.

Oh man, they're encroaching into Hyundai/Kia's luxury car segment, should Hyundai/Kia be worried? This may make a dent in Kia's K9 model (a dog of a car from what I hear). Maybe Hyundai/Kia will go on the offensive and make $250K cars to hit those luxury car mfrs where it hurts.

If TVR is smart they will deliver a $125K vehicle for $75K.

you can get a cheap model for any luxury brand. cla means you barely got into a benz and so does the 2 series.
it doesnt mean they are bad cars, but it didnt really lower the perception of the S class/ 7 series.

the only thing is ultra exotics like aston, maserati, bentley going doin market will definitely take away from the exclusivity.
i see ghibli all over - its definitely making maserati seem common.
