NO, THEY AREN'T!!!

The LS460 fell behind in 2007 when the W221 S-Class was introduced. It promptly lost all the comparison tests to the S550 then. Then in 2013 all it got was a facelift which put it further behind. The S550 is better looking, way more luxurious, faster, better handling, has way more technology on board and it is just better driving. The LS is the most reliable car in the segment with the old W221 being 2nd to it most the years it was out. Lexus is 10 years behind here at least, just completely outdated. The A8 pretty much crushes it also. The 7-Series will be new this time next year. A new LS can't come soon enough for them.

Agreed...I don't even compare the above with the S Class anymore which is now compared alongside the Bentley and Rolls.

As fare as the A8 and 7 go, they have nothing to worry about, the LS has not aged gracefully at al, however it has managed to outsell both the A8 and 7 in recent months...be interesting to see how an all new 7 next yr will change that

Sorry, this will do very little for the LS. I'm sure it's still an incredibly luxurious and solid choice, but won't sway anyone away from the Germans, especially the S-Class.

A8 ? now way..

This order S, then 7/460 , last A8.

Th 7 series back in 2008 still had the shitty big lippy boot lid, whilst the 460 perfected it the year before - 2007 , the look of the back and boot lid along with the integarted exhaust. the 460 was car of th year in 2007.

The A8 is a front wheel dive car, some may be 4, but to make a front wheel car in this class !

The A8 has better interior, more tech and will smoke a LS460 on the road. The A8L 4.0T that is. The 7-Series was new for 2009, what you're talking about 2008 for I don't know. The 7 is newer than the LS anyway.

well played...this is just like the doddering mess of the SC...it debuted as a lackluster product and then got older and older and older and older.

LOSING GROUND! Why ANYONE would buy this over a K900 or an Equus is beyond me. The LS needed a full replacement 2-3 years ago.

.....Matt. More like "who" is going to choose K900 or an Equus over a LS....except you

@JDMUSMuscle we all know you're a JDM car bigot, but a least be intelligent. The Equus and K900 are 100% equivalent to the LS and cost a lot less. The LS isn't remotely in the hunt with the S Class or the 7 Series, so that drops it back to "Genesis" class. The Equus is dull but better looking and the K900 is gorgeous by comparison. Because I have access to a variety of cars, I take the time to live with models we retail.

agree with benzes1. LS400 was Lexus' best flagship then after 2007 it was never able to compete. I owned the LS460L for a year and sold it for an Audi A8L. Having driven the latest S class, the Audi A8 is not match for the new S class. Have you guys seen the sales numbers for the S? There's a reason why they are selling so well.
That said, I think the S class is the best in class, BMW and Lexus tie for last.

ok i can agree with some of the comments, the s class, a8 and 7 series are all better than the LS.
the minute you jump on the " lets hate lexus " bandwagon its gone too far.

the LS is and will always be better than the K900 and equus. i dont care if the equus is better than an s550 in every category, it will still be worse than the S500.
you cannot ignore the LEXUS name as a player in the luxury market. while the Hyundai and kia are getter better, i would NEVER get one, and neither would ANY normal person looking for a true luxury car.

This is still the current generation car, just with some upgrades. When they release an all new model then we can make an issue of this. Right now this is non-news.
