Possible, but not if these look close to anything they plan on fighting with. I'd take the VW in a heartbeat. If in fact audi is a vw (which for the record I'm certain they are not, Audi is worth 23 billion VW 18 billion and as in all buisiness he who makes the money, makes the rules) then how embarrassed should Merc and BMW be, that VW offers a more appealing product.

Audi is not worth a damn, Audi is not worth more than VW. why don't you audi fans provide some references on your post, instead of posting lies. If you are a Audi owner what is wrong with the truth.

Your lack of wisdom is astounding. AUDI is most definetly worth more than VW. These facts are easy to check out. Go to any buisness web site such as bloomberg.com. Then if you have any questions about the companies worth just ask. However this being said VW does own 99% of Audi. So in that sense it makes VW a more valuable co.

lies? what are you on about?
the truth? umm...ok. audis are good cars. they look good, drive well, and have great interiors.
oh, is that not the truth you wanted? ok, larry, just for you.
bmw rule the world and make the best of everything and no-one should buy this rebagded vw because it is a POS because audi share 2 platforms with vw which obviously completely devalue the brand as vws are poorly engineered nazi staff cars, awd sucks, rwd rules, bmws are the best in the world and have magic powers to make you feel happy, and have rwd, and rwd, and rwd, and quattro is only good in corners and accelerating, and who does that?....
thats your truth, isn't it?

audis MUST be bad because they are owned by vw, a "lesser" company. also the company that gave most of europe a car. (and is now at least 18% owned by porsche)
i don't understand how being related to vw is a bad thing, it just pools more resources and money, surely? and its not like vws are bad cars, the vw golf is the best selling car in europe. why all the references to rebadged vws? there is no rebadging of any kind.

why is audi not worth anything? audi's "parent" company may be vw, but i'm sure audi is now taking centre stage.
and iown1 did give figures, just you decided not to belive them, becuase it would make audi a profitable company (how dare it).

The car in the picture which they r saying as the MB AMG, looks so much like the current Infiniti G35.
(Not the latest G35 sedan)
And BMW Z9 is looking like an Aston.

Perhaps what you, and many others, don't understand is that AUDI is a subsidiary of VW. Unlike, for example, Lexus, which is a division of Toyota. What this means is that AUDI functions as its own co. Yes they share platforms and other parts I'm sure, BFD. The point is that AUDI maintains an independent status on the DAX, the German equivilant of the DOW JONES (stock symbol NSU) A single share of AUDI stock is now trading north of 375 euros a share compared with about 65 of VW. If your really interested in how this all works, there was a great article in buisness week which, in sumation, basically states that without AUDI VW would have been bankrupt. Therefore I think it would be wise to consider the relationship between the two companies as being symbiotic. (I'll let you look the word up; undoubtably you could use some time in a dictionary.)

correction- It wasn't Buisness Week, it was the Economist, a publication that couldn't give a rat's ass about what car you drive. They focus on numbers(i.e. a company's growth, not how many people own one.)

Larry, in case your interested, it was the August 31, 2006 issue of the Economist. Is that specific enough?

i read that! but for my economics class.
damn school.
well, first week back is over now.
iown1, i just realised how right you are.
audi is a seperate company. it isn't "vws audi" any more than it is the other shareholders' audi.
we don't know which way round the platform thing works.
vw could be using audi platforms....
thank you iown1 :D

Rupert- how correct you are. An educatated presentation usually stiffles the rhetoric. And yes, its like the shark thing...it's mutually beneficial.

These are photoshops. Why are we basing our decisions on what some skilled photoshoppers think the cars will look like?

I'm waiting for the real thing before commenting on any of them.

And Larry, Audi is a pretty damn fine company. ;)

BMW530i-

The R8 is in there... that's not a photoshop, so we can comment on it!

Eighteen days left until the R8 is officially released...

iown1, get your checkbook out.

Will-

"Audi and BMW have been trying to catch up in this segment for a while."

Really? The R8 is the first Audi supercar, so, it's their first attempt to "catch up". Nice try, though.

And the BMW Z8 is breathtakingly cool.
