LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW: TEASED! Acura Shows Us The 2016 ILX, Says BIG Changes Are On The Way
Since its launch, the Acura ILX hasn't exactly grabbed our attention. Though haters will point and say we've got a vendetta with Honda/Acura, that's far from the truth.

We just don't believe the ILX is a brilliant product as it is too closely related to the Honda Civic.

That could be set to change though as Acura has teased the automotive community with a newly focused ILX sedan. Said to be inspired by the new era ushered in by the all-new TLX, which puts a higher value on performance, the new ILX may be something special.

Whatever the case, we're looking forward to seeing what Acura's got for us at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Big Changes in Store for Acura's Sport Sedan

10/20/2014 - TORRANCE, Calif.

Acura is preparing to unveil a substantially new 2016 ILX at the L.A. Auto Show next month as the brand aims to raise the stakes again in the entry-premium sedan segment. Already bringing in more buyers under the age of 35 to the segment than any other entry-premium model, the new 2016 ILX stands to solidify and broaden its appeal with a comprehensive update that includes a potent new powertrain, more forceful, sporty exterior styling, and substantially upgraded interior design.

Much like its hot new stable mate-the brand new TLX-the 2016 ILX will bring a sharper performance focus while delivering a greater set of high-value comfort, convenience and safety features that consumers desire in the increasingly competitive entry-luxury field.

Catch the unveiling of the ILX on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Acura booth at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

potent motor eh? a detuned version of the new turbo 4cyl they offer in Europe maybe? Either way, it will still likely to too familiar to the interior and exterior of the Civic which is the same for the TLX, too similar to Honda

To be serious it will need awd at least as an option and much better differentiation from the Civic. Honda could take lessons from Audi who have been quite successful differentiating VW/Audi in the past (although lately they seem to be getting closer and closer).

The ILX doesn't look too bad so I don't think the changes will be too huge, they will probably just eliminate the 2.0 and make the 2.4 standard.
