LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW: Scion TEASES Us With Not ONE, But TWO Images Of The NEW iM Concept
As I've noted in other threads earlier this week, the Los Angeles Auto Show has become a place for not only for "green" automobiles, but sport cars too. The reality is that the automotive market has been experiencing a schism for several years.

Yes, we want fuel efficient and alternative energy options, BUT, there's still a huge desire for the most sporting and race-inspired products. There's a reason why cars like the 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat are being built.

Now we're seeing Scion teasing us with not one but TWO images of an all-new concept destined for the SoCal show. Although the teaser shots don't show us a tremendous amount of the vehicle, it's clear it has sporting intentions.

Check out that large diameter wheel and tire set up. Note the perforated brake rotors and lowered stance?

Although we can't be certain, it appears that this vehicle's front facade bears some resemblance to the Toyota Auris that's sold abroad. Could Toyota be aiming to repackage it as a Scion and bring it to The States. It doesn't seem completely out of reach, if you ask us.

Scion's statement follows:

The iM Concept car reflects the evolution of Scion as the needs and desires of its youthful customers also evolve.

Scion needs a new box or a tC replacement it's almost like Toyota has given up on the brand after the second generation models weren't the same hits as the originals.

Scion should be killed in fire and Prius made an all-hybrid BRAND with the current 3 Prius models, a crossover, an "MR2", a lifestyle pickup, and a mini-minivan.

Hybrids--not EVs--are the next viable step away from gas/diesel only and a near-premium brand between Toyota and Lexus--like an all-hybrid Prius brand--would be a good move.

Scion was always a joke.

LAIAC has been getting more sports car announcements/reveals because they moved up the show date.

Looks like Toyota has been poaching ideas from the Subaru design team. Regardless, neither those brakes nor those fender flares will make it into production.

This looks like a xA/xD replacement.
