SPIED: Up CLOSE And Personal With The All-New Acura NSX — Bet You Haven't Seen Shots Like THIS
The Acura NSX is a car that we're hoping will put Acura right again. For what feels like eons, we've been critical of Honda's luxury marque because, well, we need to be. From where the brand was when it was first launched in the late 1980s is a far cry from where it is today.

Some may think that's a good thing, but I reassure you it is not.

While the NSX is a halo car featuring all-new technology new to Acura, we're hoping this vehicle has an "R8 effect" on the company. Though we're sure it will be priced out of most folks' reach, we wager that this is merely a preview of innovation set to trickle down in the company's product portfolio.

Enough of the hopes and dreams for now, though.

Spotted working its way around the world famous Nürburgring on film this weekend, we're happy to bring you shots of the all-new NSX as it was snapped up close thanks to what must have been a ZOOM lens. This prototype is a big deal because, remember, the original car conducting 'Ring testing burned to the ground.

Notice anything different over what we've seen in previous iterations?

So far, so good...it hasn't exploded, yet.

Didn't one burn down? I do like that Honda is giving it a bespoke (for now) V6 with twin turbos. That should be good for 400 hp easily on its own. Combined with the electric motors upfront it's almost a 500+ hp level type performance possibly. The problem with "benchmarks" though is that a lot of the time it's the last generation. The NSX might be being benchmarked against the current 458 and R8 and so on but when it comes out I bet the newest Ferrari and R8 and some other contenders will be a little ahead.

Yes, the last one tested caught fire on the track.

Acura's intent is not to have the best acceleration times, or the best track times, but to offer a car with ~550hp that has superior driving dynamics to the current leaders, i.e., 458, R8, 911.

Nice Honda Fiero. The Stingray, Camaro ZL1, Camaro SS, and probably a regular Mustang GT will likely be better at the track.

For someone who calls everyone else in the car industry an idiot, you seem one step below the waterline. While you claim to know everything about the car market, you clearly have no idea why people buy cars and what they use them for.

Few if any NSX buyers will seriously use the this car on the track. It will make a nice daily driving super car that's fast, comfortable, reliable, and if it was like the previous generation, will handle like a dream. I can't understand you childish focus on track times and 0-60 times, some of us prefer a scalpel to a hatchet.

Why do you compare every new sports car to the Stingray, Camaro ZL1, Camaro SS on the track? Is this what your Hyundai clients want? You don't own any of these, why would you expect anyone to listen to your opinion on them?

"much like the first"

Just proves that you basically know zero about the history of this car and probably any car.
