TEASED! Wagon Fans, Rejoice! Subaru Just Gives Us A LITTLE Taste Of The Forester STI
Fans of Subaru's with a bit of attitude should be pretty happy to see this day come. Subaru will be expanding its line of STI-branded vehicles to the Forester in short order. We know this because the Japanese auto builder known for its rally cars has sent us a first glimpse of the all-new 'boob.

As of now details remain slim; however, if the WRX STI is any indication, the car will feature a power bump, large diameter wheels and tires, a big brake kit, significant suspension upgrades, and an upgraded interior.

All told, we expect Subaru to present a pretty formidable package that will have buyers looking for this über niche vehicle jumping for joy.

Though it may seem silly, I have seen quite a few Foresters with extensive modifications to make them handle better and accelerate with some gusto. Will it sell in massive volumes? I don't think so, but that's never been Subaru's modus operandi anyhow.

Look for the Forester STI to debut on November 25.

Well, as long as we can order some of these fancy parts for our USDM FXTs then that's cool with me. Otherwise I don't really care.

As for the engine, whatever. They don't have a new STI engine anyway, really. Folks that want more "go" in their FXTs are waiting on a tune from COBB.

I'd wager the parts will be avail for purchase separately.

Yeah, japanparts will have them if anyone will. I already have an STI front spoiler from them on my XT and might pick up a couple other things at some point. Though if I blow another couple of grand on car stuff next it will be for the C7.

It will still have the Super Beetle engine and styling strangeness. PASS

Styling wise the new Forester is no more "strange" than any other CUV out there. Nissan and Jeep are going for way more "strangeness" these days with their entry level utes. (And way worse transmissions to go with their non-super-beetle engines, for what that's worth.)

You talking about Boxer engine? It's a Boxer engine, not a Porsche Boxster engine. I don't know why many Americans believe Subaru uses a Porsche engine, when Subaru has their own.

Probably not coming to America as the previous "almost STI" Foresters haven't. but Subaru is doing some volume in the states now so they can take on a fun project.

HEY GUYS HOW YOURE DOING! Hope everyone is having a great year! approaching 2015

I'm a dealer at serramonte subaru and i must say I'm highly anticipating if this car would even be sold in the USA, I'll be honest with you guys but i had a feeling it might be sold in Japan only or anywhere but the US.

We are getting our shipments of 3 SUBARU STI ESX RED DRAGONS which will be pretty cool but however if i still dont know about the FORESTER STI, as the ESX RED DRAGON MIGHT JUST BE A WELL TUNED AND AUTOBODY CRAFTED STI I ASSUME THE FORESTER STI will be also a well tuned and tastefully moded forester XT , As soon as i get word ill let you know......if we are getting any im also keeping my fingers cross hoping that they will make a manual transmission but hands down the WRX 2.0 DIT ( DIRECT INJECTED TURBO ) engine has been the highlight of the year for me and our dealership. and the Forester XT shares a similiar engine to the WRX, I would be satisfied to get a regular FORESTER XT WITH THE WORLD RALLY BLUE COLOR AND GOLD STI BBS RIMS WITH A HOOD SCOOP ;) #hopeful but ill let you guys know.
