LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW: SKETCHED OUT! Mazda Unveils Its Entry-Level SUV Entrant, The CX-3
As we've made mention countless times, the sport-utility vehicle market has exploded. And, now that fuel prices are creeping down, again, we're sure people will be more than happy to snap them up.

It looks like the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show will be the show to be at for entry-level, compact sport-utility vehicles. That's because the Honda HR-V will not be the only small SUV making its very first appearance.

Sent to us is the very first sketch of the all-new Mazda CX-3 that's slated to debut in LA in a matter of weeks. As of now information is slim, but we're sure when the automaker drops the sheets it will be sure to provide us with more thorough information.

**Stay tuned for more of the latest teases, leaks and pics from the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show!

Mazda's press release follows:

HIROSHIMA, Japan—Mazda Motor Corporation today announced that its all-new compact crossover SUV, named the Mazda CX-3, will make its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show, running from November 21 through November 30, 2014.*

Mazda CX-3 is the fifth vehicle in Mazda's line-up of new-generation products that feature the full range of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and KODO-Soul of Motion design. In pursuing a design of beauty and sophistication, the essence of KODO-the expression of life within a vehicle-has been evolved to produce a sharper form with an enhanced sense of speed.

In addition, the all-new Mazda MX-5 two-seater open-top sports car (Mazda Roadster in Japan) will make its North American auto show debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The engine line-up for the all-new MX-5 will be tailored to each market, and feature either a 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G gasoline engine, tuned exclusively for the model and mounted longitudinally. North American-specification models will only be fitted with the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 gasoline engine.

I still say a Mazda/FCA partnership would be brilliant

I don't really see anything that ties the two brands in a synergy type of way. FCA is big enough to not need a partner and Mazda is strong enough engineering wise to survive. Sure maybe Mazda can gain some channels in Europe potentially in a partnership but Japan isn't really a market that outsiders can even hope to thrive in saleswise.

In the US I actually don't see the "subcompact" CUV being that big of a hit, elsewhere yes but not as much in America.

I can drive a penalty box Fit, Sonic, or Yaris or a cool SUV version of the aforementioned wheezer boxes...the market will be HUGE
