Chrysler VP Of Quality Resigns Over Poor Consumer Reports Reliability Results
Let's be perfectly honest about this, neither Chrysler nor Fiat (fix it again, Tony) have ever enjoyed particularly stellar reputations when it comes to reliability. So when Doug Betts was made Vice President of Quality for Fiat-Chrysler seven years ago, his work was pretty much cut out for him. We certainly don't envy the job that must have been, but a recent reliability ranking from Consumer Reports puts Chrysler at dead last.

The old saying "A fish rots from the head" is applicable here. Quality results from top management leadership and insisting on throughout the organization. It is a way everything is done. It effects how things are designed, how parts are sourced and assembled, etc. etc. You can't add it in. This guy had an impossible job and was guaranteed to fail.

Marchionne needs to resign and Fiat needs to hire Mulally.

Mulally is the guy who didn't really do much for Ford, and pretty much has done nothing for Lincoln. Hiring him for Fiat would mean Fiat is actually pretty stupid.

Wait, he resigned? Don't you think GM and Ford also should do the same, when they both also only make unreliable garbage?

The U.S. needs to make reliable cars, not cheap Made in China junk.

Chrysler/Jeep has been absolute sh*t for as long as I can remember. Nothing new. I love the look of the Challenger, but beyond that... No way I'd ever buy one. Even with the ignition issues, I'd take aGM any day over the absolute junk that is Chrysler. Want a laugh? Read about the piece of junk the Viper was in last year's Motor Trend Best Driver's Car contest.

Sebring, 200 or whatever they called it at a given point, has been garbage forever, and the only car I was ever scared to drive b/c it was so flimsy feeling.

Dodge Viper is basically the car that represents "American Way" of life.

Violent, uncomfortable, way too loud, and pretty much unreliable as hell, it falls apart like a Made in China Walmart product.

The United States does not know what "luxury" is (And without New York City, the U.S. would look like an ordinary South American country), and obviously has no clue what reliability is.

So well, the Americans make what they are good at making. Absolute pieces of junk that are uncomfortable and fall apart.

Now you know why not many Americans wanted to pay over 100k for a piece of junk like a Viper. It's because for the rich Americans, their gods are European luxury brands, not some piece of garbage like a Viper.

The Americans themselves know their country is hopeless, and Europe is the future.

Forgot to mention my ex's old Cherokee that dropped its drive shaft and had a transmission that wouldn't fully shift into Park and we couldn't remove the key. Ten years later, rented a Wrangler which wouldn't fully go into Park and it started moving in reverse after I got out of it with the rest of my family in it, nearly running me over as I went around back to grab something from the trunk. Absolute JUNK.

Well, that was pretty much a stupid comment, JDMUS, lumping every American into one gigantic group of 300 million ignorant people. You need look no further than the Corvette to show what Americans can do right. You also forgot about Chicago, San Francisco, L.A., and numerous other cities with culture, class and knowhow. Anyone who classifies a country based on knowing what "luxury" is, comes off sounding vapid and obnoxious. Well done.

Oh, BTW, JDMUS, Italy (guess that's b/c it's Southern Europe) makes some of the most unreliable cars on earth, as does Mercedes... is Germany in Southern Europe? I guess so.
