MORE Shots Of The 2015 BMW X6 — Would You Rather Have THIS Or The More Conservative Looking X5?

The first-generation BMW X6 will easily be a part of the blue and white's history. Sorry, there's no way around it, the vehicle shaped the company's design in a big way. Whether you like to admit it or not, there's a lot of four door vehicles masking themselves as coupes since the X6s success.

THINK: 3-Series Gran Turismo, 4-Series Gran Coupe, X4, 5-Series Gran Turismo, 6-Series Gran Coupe. That's an assload of vehicles with a sleeker roofline over their more conservative counterparts.

After Agent 001 went down to the dirty south to spend time behind the wheel of the all-new X6, I wanted to take a second and reflect if this new design trend has your attention or if you'd still opt for the more conservative option between the X5 and X6.

A coupe roof line on a SUV body seems all out proportion and not at all attractive. The Audi 7 does the best at this but even it seems weird at the rear; from the side like something sat on the rear and from the back too wide. Reminds me of the 60's fastbacks; AMC Marlin, Torino Talledaga, etc. Give me the 5.

the X6 needs a unique front end. Looks too much like the X5 and X3, the roofline suggests more of an aggressive look yet the front is a chunky SUV look. BMW is not the best with scale and proportion. look a the side profile of the X4, or even the 4 series, all need more tweeking.

and the 3 series GT is barking just like the 5 series GT - BMW needs to focus on quality design vs a vehicle for every niche possible. Get back to basics guys

There are a lot of things I would rather have than this. I just don't see the purpose unless you have unlimited money and this is a car you really really like.

Both are pretty much unreliable and not really useful.

Give me a Lexus GX or LX, or an Escalade. Those are the real SUVs.

This X5/6 is just a car for soccer moms.
